Character Discussion Burgess and his Riki Riki (Strong ass fruit)

What do you all think of Burgess fruit?

I feel like this is the most basic fruit. Like it's what a kid or a regular guy would dream off. At the same time it could legit be one of the strongest fruits out there.
We already know with enough strength you can break through haki defences, well Burgess literally has unlimited strength and has some mid/standard CoA and CoO. I feel like the only thing stopping him is his goofy personality. It's basically a human human fruit model Garp but on steroids.
Anyways thought?

how close do we think Urogues fruit can match Gerards?
Gerard? You mean Gerard from Bleach? I loved his powers

If it's just a typo and you mean Jesus Burgess I think Burgess fruit is straight up stronger.
Urouge converts damage into strength and we saw already on Sabaody that the damage he can take has upper limits. One kick from Kizaru had him on the floor.

Ofc Oda can retcon this since it happened a long time ago, but it's all we have for now.

just as trash as its user.

Urouges fruit is better
Come on be objective. It's basically the same fruit but Urouge fruit has conditions/downside before it can he activated.

Fodder tier, old Garp is physically stronger, nevermind things like haki, speed, durability etc
I understand the durability part but there is nothing really stopping the fruit from granting Burgess or anyone else really Garp tier physical strength or even two times that. Plus realistically that strength should translate well to speed specially movement speed.

I think the Strong DF fits Burgess well, as his character inspirations are clear: Lucha Libre attire, the 'Champion' epithet, professional wrestling moves, and his already massive physical build. Even his favorite food is listed as 'protein.' The enhanced strength directly complements his existing fighting style, and he could become even more formidable through potential improvements to his CoA Haki.

Other BBPs have similarly hunted down fruits that suit their existing combat styles. I can see how this might feel somewhat lackluster since it doesn't dynamically alter their fighting methods.

Idk man when I think of Devil Fruits I think of them as allowing users to perform what I would call "special procedures" in comparison to what would be called "regular procedures" with no Devil Fruit and a basic human body.

The strength fruit in that sense can represent applications outside of regular limits. Which ones? I'm not sure yet. It could be something as ridiculous as what The Juggernaut did to Thanos before.

Sooo The Juggernaut has been used as a projectile before (more than once). He killed Thanos by being loaded into a cannon and shot through a temporal wormhole or something like that.

The Juggernaut's "unstoppable" nature was the critical characteristic to achieve this, which may be comparable to conditions set by the strength fruit. This may be considered a "special procedure" because The Juggernaut has mutant abilities.

The Juggernaut is basic, too, but he has been used in creative ways before.

And now I've used my creativity and I'm done for the day lol... Last creative post today

If I was writing One Piece, I would say the strength fruit turns you into an "unstoppable force". In this sense, it's practically the same thing as The Juggernaut's ability.

Damn I'm good! This is like one of the most perfect responses for "How does Burgess become the lethal and the fancy?" This is how! He follows the footsteps of the greats before him. The Juggernaut has railed against this "He's just a strong guy" thing too.

I'm more interested in the Awakened ability of this fruit.
It would mean he gives other things the critical characteristic: unstoppable force.

Idk if he awakens it then ... Oda can play with more ideas than just turning Burgess into a bullet, but that might be too much ... If the Juggernaut could turn other things into Juggernaut things ... That could potentially wreck their whole verse.

I imagined garp having this DF a long time ago. Imagine how OP he would be with this DF.

It’s different

Burgess = strength
Urouge = karma

The further applications of Urouge’s powers likely diverge significantly from Burgess’s.

In Buddhism, karma effects what you are born into in the next life.

perhaps Urouge can do more than just grow stronger. Maybe he can outright transform himself into a deva or an asura if he collects enough Karma

A rare Burgess thread. Sadly I have nothing interesting to add to the discussion.

Straightforward fruit, endless potential. It is up to CL²³oda.

literally all this fruit does is make Burgess go from low to mid tier.

remember when he got neg diffed by Sabo lol
Disagree. Sure he gets mugged by elemental yonko commanders but he for sure beats the strong men of yonko crews like Queen, Jinbei Jozu etc. His fruit doesn't have upper limits and he is already a competent combatant in terms of speed and haki and technique. The fruit for sure places him as a high tier.
