This is Loki’s flashback.
This means we will see the characters important to him.
Rocks is explicitly the Shanks figure to Loki.
This means we are seeing Rocks
Loki hates the World Gov because they killed Rocks.
The World Gov killed Rocks at God’s Valley
God’s Valley happened because of Shakky
That’s why Shakky is important to this flashback.
No, I think he’ll get the Wano trio/Law treatment and become a crewmate that’s not actually a crewmate
I just think the argument that this flashback is somehow killing his chances is totally lacking in merit.
If he doesn’t join it will be because he’s simply too big and too powerful for the crew.
Not because of a flashback that is exploring his life from his birth, up until the death of his father (and maybe beyond to his fight with Shanks) while also giving us an insight into the important people of his life and how they too had an important role in the One Piece world.
That’s a fucking terrible argument lmao, especially since we went through the same one (with arguably more cause, although it was still wrong) with Jinbei‘s.

Frankly, I would've preferred it if Luffy had allied with Marguerite and made her the new queen of Amazon Lily, especially if Oda let her keep that black cat DF from the concept designs so she'd be more useful in combat, but too late for that now. Anyway, I know it's filler, but Hancock grew on me during the 3D2Y anime special, which made her far more interesting than how she's been handled in the manga. Plus, her willingness to give up her position to be with Luffy so many times to the point where she outright admitted her feelings for him to the marines during Marineford was kinda sweet, in a twisted sort of way.
