Art is subjective but you are objectively stupid to think Kingdom is ugly. Legit if you think Kingdom is ugly you are probably a @ZenZu alt
i dont really care about the politics its just genuinely one of the ugliest looking and most repetitive manga ive ever seen. if you arent reading it yourself, every single page or panel that anyone posts over years and years looks like the same scene

Just a completely random, nothing special page I pulled from a recent Kingdom chapter. If you really spend about 60 seconds analyzing this page, you will see how purely and completely insane the amount of detail is in this page.

Then stop and realize that this is the level of quality Hara delivers every single week with minimal breaks, seriously the detail this man packs into every single page is just unprecedented, the perspective and motion and impact of every single panel is just absolutely insane. You can say you don’t like the style but you can’t deny just how much detail is here.

Personally Hara is my favorite artist in manga history, the man is a demigod when it comes to how much quality he packs into weekly chapters.

I will admit I am no art connoisseur, but I have read a lot of manga and I have never thought Kingdom's art was poor. Whats the deal with that? @ZenZu @ArturCantSpeakJapanese
It's certainly detailed, I'll give it that much. It's really flat though, Hara not good at consistently drawing perspective to give a sense of depth. Even with shading. Everything just looks stuck on the same plane, which kills any sense of depth.

Look at the panel ALH posted, it looks like a collage. The shading bleeds together so badly that it took me five tries just to spot the horse in that panel. You can’t glance at it and immediately understand what’s going on, which makes the whole thing visually messy

Kingdom artstyle looks like if a middle schooler who's drawing in his free time just discovered what shading is and thinks 'oh cool I'll just use shading on everything now' and applies it everywhere but with zero understanding of lighting and perspective
Exactly. This is why it comes off flat even with all that shading, actually it's the shading which is making it so.

Imagine criticizing a manga because you have to look at the art for more than .5 seconds to understand the full intent of the scene. This isn’t real criticism.

Let me guess, you think this is good art because Titty spent 15 minutes on it and there’s pretty much nothing going on:

BM was in awe from G4 garling attack also lol
Man how much of a monster is Kizaru in durability. You have to admit WSG and then a gigantified G5 punch. Clean as a whistle. No one could have predicted this. We all thought Kizaru would be the least durable of the Admirals atleast, yet he's looking like the most durable top tier rn.

Yea Kubo is far better than Hara as an artist. It's not even close. You can tell Hara tries hard but he's just not naturally gifted at it. It looks effortless for Kubo to shade and draw proper lighting and perspective.

Kingdom suffers from similar problems as AOT. It's very flat due to improper shading. I used to shade like that in grade school art class.

If you think this is bad art you are legitimately visually

I stopped reading here. Every single thing you’ve ever posted is invalid after this lmfao. Titty’s art is garbage, he looks like every other generic shonen artist who never spends more than 15 minutes on a single page and doesn’t know that backgrounds exist.

This is definitely one of the better Kingdom panels. Solid sense of motion here. Most of Hara's action scenes look like screenshots stopped in time. He was always great at drawing Kyo Kai scenes imo she's spinning around and shit.

One thing I'll give Hara though is he's great at drawing a sense of weight. You really feel how heavy some blows are.

Bleach clears kingdom in terms of art lol
If you’re a complete retard, sure lmfao

I doubt Titty ever spent more than 15 minutes on a single page of Bleach as he drew generic samurai, big tits, and high school kids. Titty is legit one of the most meme’d artists in history

You tried to save your rep after saying Bleach has better art than Kingdom lmfao smh

No I'm just calling it like I see it. That's one of the better Kingdom panels for sure. I noticed early on he's good at drawing Kyo Kai action panels since she's based on finesse over power.

The tradeoff for the power based action panels is they come off extremely flat.

At the end of the day Hara has a distinct art style. It is objectively bad though (shading/lighting is very amateurish), subjectively I like it for what it is.

As I said, I dont really understand all this stuff very well. But art is subjective. You will see many people calling Oda's art got worse, then you will see another bunch who would say I prefer the current drawing.

I dont really care about art unless its Vagabond-Berserk level or its so bad that I dont understand whats going on. For me, Kingdom's art is not worse than One Piece or Bleach.
