For anime/manga, shonen battle or sports manga remain supreme to me. It's the only standout thing I can't get elsewhere. If I want an actual deep story I'll read a book.

I'm gonna be honest I watch anime for character aura, which really only exists in this medium. That's why I mess with battle and sports anime heavy, they usually have tons of that.

Idk if this is ragebait or what. But that arc was a banger well before the anime adapted it. It's what sold me on the series.

That's how you write a flashback, we saw the awakening of an already prodigy in Gojo, and the reason some of the characters are the way they are. Geto's descent into being radicalized is probably the best written thing I've read in shonen in a long time.

You should check out Kuroko no basket if you like badass characters. Not as well written as Haikyu, but the characters are pretty sick.

idk what success looks like to Gege, but I doubt he won’t come to regret fucking it up so badly with JJK.

I didn't read jujutsu kaisen, it seemed pretty gorish and rough and it makes me uncomfortable, but I hope this one will be nice for me to read

I’ve always said Gege’s biggest writing flaw is the lack of downtime he leaves

The ultra fast pace means the characters have little to no chance to actually interact and feel human

It’s just fight -> fight -> another fight -> fight -> maybe 1 chill chapter -> fight

Was at it’s worst during the Culling Games

Nothing but fighting pretty much

Hopefully he goes back to the early JJK formula where he spaced out the combat and the SoL/social moments a bit better

I have checked it out and even watched a ton of episodes but the anime just didnt feel that good to me compared to the likes of haikyuu so i dropped it.
The characters were pretty stale in it and didnt interest me enough ( tho i did drop it right before the match against akashi )

Try a soccer manga called Whistle, super underrated.
