It almost made me forget you called me an ableist.
I didn't
If I say "what you said was racist" does that mean you're not racist yourself?
What you say typically reflects what you believe. If you see a white dude running his mouth about how black people only eat chicken and kool aid, chances are you're very likely to just label that dude a racist off the rip.
Not necessarily.
I have a lot of racist, ableist, transphobic, sexist, colonist, meritocratic, classist biases myself.
Does that mean that I'm all those things ? No. I'm fighting against everyday. But sometimes, I'm being told or I understand that something I said IS indead problematic (a lot less now than a few years ago, let's be honest). A lot's of things I said on this very forum I consider to be the result of these biases for ex.
Racism, ableism, colonialism, capitalism, patriarchy.....
They are not ideologies, or the result of bad behavior they are exploitative system of domination. This means that no matter how much deconstructed you are, you can't escape the fact that you were educated in such system and as such, you have a place in them, subgegated or exploitative that will influence the way you think
EVEN AFTER learning everything there is to know about about activism, historical materialism and all the struggles against those domination system.
Logiko the other day
"I hate white people"
"I understand" he replies
But if someone said they hate other group or minority he lose his shit
That the difference in understanding then impact of a structural system of domination and not understanding them. The hate I understood in that case, is not structural or systemic.
