Instead of what we got in Egghead.

I personally think this would’ve been Sanjis best looking fight in the series if this fight happened . Choreography would be bettter than Sanji Vs Queen, Power scaling aside.
Sanji in Egghead would have a Cool Moment against Kizaru run around for 10+ chapters, have a cool moment against NusJuro run around for awhile etc. You don’t realize how much running around this man does in the arc until you watch the Anime. I think Oda blew a huge opportunity for a good Sanji fight.

I mean powerscaling aside don’t you just want to see Sanji fight? He has like 1 1v1 Fight in the 15 Years of Post Timeskip. When’s the last time Sanji fought someone who fought with kicks and was as agile as he was?
we know King is Stronger than Lucci but it still aesthetically pleasing watching Him fight against Zoro. What’s the issue with Sanji fighting Kaku ? Instead of babysitting Vegapunk and carrying him around all arc……

Sanji looked better than Zoro in the Egghead arc. He got his moment against an Admiral, clashed with 3 Gorosei, and called the shots when the strawhats were escaping, commanding Jimbei to fetch Zoro.

Sanji is, for all intents and purposes, as strong as Zoro. We already saw how quickly Zoro v Kaku would've ended this arc.

Oda shouldve just done his usual 123, Luffy fights strongest , Zoro fights 2nd , Sanji fights 3rd, Egghead is the first time since Skypiea that the Monster Trio are all in an arc and Sanji doesnt get a fight but the other 2 do............................
If Luffy is fighting Kizaru, and Zoro is fighting Lucci, Sanji shouldve absolutely fought Kaku, Gear 5 is the only power capable of even fighting someone like Kizaru for an extended period. King and Queen are stronger than Lucci and Kaku obviously but still Sanji has to have more to do in the arc, singular moments are cool, but having a purpose outside of running around is better. Only person you can really have Sanji fight for a period of time in the arc is Kaku logically. I think it wouldve been cool to see plus they have really nice fighting styles.

Then he got to face two Elders, an Admiral and destroy a laser.

Oda gave him enough hype.

Kaku would've gotten bodied anyway. Post Germa awakening Sanji is a basically a cyborg with physicals superior to even Ancient Zoans, and fire abilities on par with Paramecia DF users.

There were plenty of opportunities but Oda chose not to. Sanji is just meant to have fights like Luffy and Zoro. Oda didnt even give Luffy a clear fight even though Luffy fought like most of the time in Egghead. I think in terms of fighting time it was Luffy and then Zoro and then Sanji/Franky.
Going by the hierarchy shown it was Saturn then Kizaru then Lucci. And Oda could have easily given Lucci to Sanji and this would have been a speedster vs speedster matchup where Lucci mostly uses his hands and Sanji uses only kicks. And with the bubble gun thing and Stussy hax/seastone it shouldnt have been a problem to subdue Seras without sacrificing Kaku. And Kaku could have been given to Sanji but Oda chose not to.
Since post TS how many fights has Sanji actually been shown as a 1v1 winner?
FMI - Duo with Jinbe or did he have another 1v1?

DR - ???
Zou - ???
WCI - ???
Wano - Queen (idk if Page 1 counts)
Egghead - ???
Elbaf - ???

You can add more characters who Sanji defeated and achieved some mission specific goal. Compared to pre TS I think Sanji is getting way less fights and way less wins.

Baratie - Gin and Pearl (lost due to circumstances)
Arlong Park - Kurobi
Little Garden - (Mr. 13 if you wanna count)
Alabasta - Mr. 2
Skypeia - Satori (it was group though)
EL - Wanze and Jabra
TB - Absalom and Oars (gotta count Oars group fight)

There are fights and clashes but meaningful/deciding fights are just not being given to Sanji now. There are probably more clashes post TS than pre TS but how many of those are actually decided or won.

Lucci and Kaku are tiers apart, Sanji and Zoro cannot fight opponent in two different ballpark. Marco, Jaws and Vista were strong enough to fight top tiers for a while and Sanji is quite sturdy. Also, lasers don't seem to be as effective on Sanji as they are on other characters. Sanji is perfectly capable of exchanging blows with Kizaru (and should have). He shouldn't have failed to save Vegapunk

We saw enough on panel to establish Sanji was superior even before his Germa abilities awakened.

The fact S-Shark couldn't do jackshit with a freebie Karate Fishman strike made it clear post Germa awakening Sanji was physically dominant.

He tanked the same attack G5 Luffy did, who has vastly superior durability.

People faulting Sanji for this is as weird to me as people clowning him for eating a kick from Kizaru and getting up like nothing - after Lufy ordered him to run and immediately failed to contain Kizaru.

And in this case, Sanji blitzed Nusjuro - while carrying Vegapunk - and was only vulnerable to a counter because he saved Bonney.

Disagree on the Lucci and Kaku thing, they're not meant to be far apart although Lucci is obviously superior.
Also, Zoro never really struggled with Lucci. Once he used an actually strong named attack Lucci nearly died.
So it's fine if Sanji fights Kaku as long as it's in a similar manner to Zoro vs Lucci where once Sanji whips out an especially strong move like Hell Memories (even if it's just DJ) Kaku is finished.
I do agree that Sanji should have clashed with Kizaru a hit though. Obviously Kizaru would beat him without much trouble in a real fight but a few clashes never hurt anybody.
It's nuts that Oda had Zoro knock Nusjuro on his ass and then had Sanji do a far less impressive feat against that same top tier, as well as to go as far as to have him get clapped by all the other top tiers on Egghead. He's gotta do more if he's going to keep portraying Sanji as Zoro's near equal.

Id say the same if any other CP0 member was there. Lucci was barely an important character in egghead. CP0 just isn’t an engaging or important group. They’re just a retconned CP9 cause Oda didn’t think the Manga would last this long.

I'm fine with the results of Egghead, but I think that it was a wasted opportunity to show Sanji's CoC (as a Gaban's parallel, he'll obviously get it eventually). I guess that Oda will blueball the fans some more... 😅
