What was the last movie you watched?

Deep Cover
I saw a short clip of Orlando Bloom and had to watch the whole movie. Did not dissapoint in the least. More comedy roles for Bloom!

The Instigators
Very enjoyable from start to finish. Casey Affleck and Matt Damon have great chemkstry and can pull kff comedy roles with ease. I'd love if we somehow got a crossover between this and The Nice Guys (Gosling and Crowe).

I just realized, hours after I wrote the original comment that I wrote Deep Cover instead of Instigators lmaoo. Though I did watch both movies so there's that

Do you mean Instigators? I looked up Deep Cover and it doesn't have those 2 guys in it? Especially in leading roles too? But Instigators matches what you said somewhat at least, especially with Casey and Matt starring as lead roles?

I totally blundered lmaoo if you had not liked the post I'd have forgot about it completely

I believe it was considered the greatest movie of all time back then when films like Citizen Kane didn't exist yet. Next to Battleship Potemkin.
Post automatically merged:

Film is worshipping Napoleon to an unimaginable peak of cringe.
"Homer is worshipping Ulysses to an unimaginable peak of cringe"
"Virgil is worshipping Aeneas to an unimaginable peak of cringe"
"The evangelists is worshipping Jesus to an unimaginable peak of cringe"

Your mistake is think that movie was meant just to tell the story of Napoleon, but what Gance is trying to do is turn Napoleon into a mythological hero

Gance is the "Wagner" of cinema

Watched « A battle after another »

Real good movie, I don’t think it’s a genius movie, but it’s definitely a real great movie

Sean Penn is goated
As a pure comedy action movie it is ok, definitely has its moments.
But I think the subtext and the brutal indictment of Boomers and Gen X makes it great and really relevant.

One Battle After Another.

I like the Thomas Pynchon way of storytelling.

The goofy moments and Sean Penn is great and Benicio Del Toro is sweet.

But it feels like PTA stole the scenario of Running on Empty.

I feel like a different story with the same thematic would have been better.

The ending is ridiculously heading toward the PTA cinematic universe.
Next film is about the daughter finding her mother.
Other spin-off about Benicio Del Toro's character future or past.

And DiCaprio playing a revolutionary despite funding in real life luxury hostels in colonies is peak hypocrisy.

I liked the film overall, great and nice blockbuster entertainment.

Bonaparte the 1st was already a myth. But Gance is a fanatic. It feels like you're watching a movie by Leni Riefenstahl.

Anyway, did you enjoy the scene in which (iirc) Napoleon's niece is worshipping his portrait ?

No reason to dislike that scene if we understand the purpose of the movie

Demon Slayer: The Infinity Castle part 1.

Really amazing animation, the music is top again, the fights are beautifully animated and once again have great choregrapy. The VA also do an outstanding job, I especially love Doma's VA with his flamboyant voice and mannerisms.

Of course for the story and writing it depends of whenever you like Demon Slayer or not, though for me it wasn't a problem, aside from feeling long at times.
