Your expectations for Oda are still too high, I'm at an appropriate understanding of the meta. I can see Garling get folded and understand WOW this is a big deal in Odapiece. You can't sell items in a vacuum, your location's market value determines the price.

In Odapiece, a non-SH fight is either extreme diff (in which case, you have one even clash with black lightning all over the place and maybe a sky split), or the weaker character gets one shot (two shot if you’re lucky).

HKs being mostly YC level characters with immortality doesn't surprise me, but is disappointing

if we met them at the same time of the story where we started spending a lot of time with YC they would be extremely imposing imo. now there's just so many strong characters present

I think most misunderstood their standing.

The HK were alwasy going to be the Holy Roppo. If you "accept" that, meaning they are third if not fourth lines of fighters meant to be the final opponents for Belo Betty, Karasu, etc. and Brook, Franky up to maybe Jinbe, with the added bonus of showing us how to deal with regen, everything falls in place.

I have been saying from the first moment they were the Toby Roppo of the WG and I have always felt ok about them because of this.
From Brook's FV It's clear I cannot expect anything vs old Gaban, for example.

Nothing was said about a specific military force, though. What was said is that the admirals are the strongest military force the government has. The Holy Knights are just another military force that the government has, same with the CP0.

The Gorosei and Imu do not count, since they aren't a military force, but a political one.

Shanks, Shamrock, and their mom are the only 3 characters in the entire black and white manga to have their hair shaded as gray. Not even other red haired characters like Kid have that distinction

Shamrock will also be much weaker than Shanks.

Oda is going to have the elders fight differnt as soon as there regen get figure out .
This just like how he had logia users in the begining of story who did not give fuck about attacks until haki and there weakness become a factor.
Croc is perfect eg of him changing his fighting style after he saw luffy could hiurt him.

Logia users still get hit more often. The idea that the gorosei are suddenly going to change their entire fighting style and suddenly them not having regen won’t matter has always been cope. And seeing how the HK are getting battered aside and memed on whenever their regen is countered, it’ll be the same for the Gorosei
