Even if you don't value retired Bumgoku's source since he didn't participate in GV, it still was stated in the Road to Laugh Tale booklet that sane Xebec who (attacked World Nobles) fought Roger & Garp.

The fact that Oda could and would totally drop sane Xebec vs Roger & Garp and have Xebec fans be content with folding Sommers pro max before ultimately jobbing to Imu's puppet is not mere baiting, it's just another evidence of Oda's schizophrenia.

Oda never said Roger and Garp get together to beat rocks like some 2 on 1 .
The official translation is Roger and Rocks got to together break apart the rocks pirates . ( which also looking not true lol)
