Never undestood the hype from Cowboy Bebop, I watched like two episodes and got bored out of my mind. In contrast, I actually managed to binge Samurai Champloo
There's some very interesting episodes but its quite a slow burn and feels kinda more like a slice of life series. Makes me think of trying to watch Lucky Star when I was new to anime and trying to see why people were obsessed with it and it has such a loud, energetic intro too lol.

But I've been struggling with it too, but the ending might make you tear up a little at least. It reminds you its a noir series or so. Even the first episode hit me hard like that and there are some other episodes like episode 6 which has the "immortal kid" or something which ended quite hard and imo a
hell of a foreshadowing type episode too.

I think its more of a product of its time, it set a new style/genre effectively, its a pioneer series but its also very slow paced and hasn't aged well for a lot of people unfortunately.

I tried to get into Black Lagoon too, I was drawn to it because of Revy and Balalaika but I did kinda struggle with it too but I know it gets MUCH darker later on (I heard why too and l was like HOLY FUCK lol but it is a Seinen series ofc).

Bebop has some amazing music for the intro and ending, its more subtle and poignant, there's profoundness to it but it will either grab your or it doesn't. I totally understand about it not grabbing/appealing to you. I did really enjoy some parts of it and Black Lagoon and I'm gonna try to give both series another try and finish them. Episode 6 of Bebop hit me hard and I had to dwell on it for a brief while, kinda like how Death Parade kept fucking me up with every single episode and overall too lmao. Death Parade my extremely depressing, morally horrifying beloved.
