Garling probably wasn't strong enough to go against the big guns at GV. Don't know why peeps are acting like he's a peer to Roger/Rocks. Even WB wasn't at his strongest during GV, and Garling is more than likely younger than them all. Unless he's a super early bloomer like our main characters, he should be significantly below the top-tiers at GV.

I am just saying he's gonna get involved in killing Rocks, not that he'll be the one to defeat him.
