Aight, Kaido sucker punching Linlin immediately after her boasting about her prize and then catching that fruit mid-air with his teeth before proceeding to swallow it in front of a livid "Prime" Linlin with a smug shit eating grin on his face is officially my favourite Kaido moment. 
It's crazy that Garling has been present in like what, 6 chapters? and his best feats is killing women and children 
"I've given you training, now... but the real advancement in Haki happens during extreme use in battle. The stronger the foes you face with this power... the stronger you'll become with it!"
Shitheads act like Luffy went back to fight Katakuri for no reason, when there were two very legit reasons:
1: If Luffy doesn't distract Katakuri, that means the Straw Hats would have to deal with Big Mom and Katakuri with his Future Sight chasing the Sunny at once.
2: Luffy knew this was a rare chance to train his CoO
What do Sommers and Garling spend their time doing? Like, really? What training are they doing, that matches Pirates clashing their Haki together 24/7?
This is also why characters like Katakuri don't get stronger: they stop fighting strong people, DUE to reputation. Before Luffy, when was the last time Katakuri had a serious fight with an enemy near his level?
Katakuri will become MUCH stronger with CoC, CoA, and CoO, after fighting Luffy, and, now that the Blackbeard Pirates have fucked with the Big Mom Pirates, Katakuri will gain strength fighting against the Blackbeard Pirates.
Garling was weak on God Valley, because he hadn't fought people near his level in serious fights: God Valley is the first time Garling's been challenged by an enemy much more powerful than he is, and this is the result.
The man lost the woman he wanted, one of his kids, a lot of his companions, and has had a grudge against everyone associated with God Valley, and now probably has a Youkai Form he can turn into.
Like many others characters, God Valley was what pushed Garling to the next level: this is where his Haki started to bloom. He was strong before, but his Will was weak, whereas, now, Garling is fully committed to destroying piracy/rebellion.
God Valley Garling was a spoiled brat, getting shown his true place in the world.
Gorosei Garling is going to be a nightmare to deal with.
