Idk about him being the final villain, but he's so arrogant to the point that he probably believes he deserves to be the one who wields Imu's powers. I wouldn't be surprised to find out his loyalty is fake. He might make a move for power but not become the main villain.

If the double-spread is indictment of people having their own agendas, then will we see Sabo break away from Dragon?
They have already shown differences in their approaches. Dragon has been chessmastering the revolution from his armchair for the past 20 years, taking no risky move. Meanwhile, Sabo immediately rushed to MJ and declared war on IMU & the Gorosei.
The choice between a restrained longterm strategy and a risky shortterm one might break the RA into two factions, still both working toward the same goal.

Eh they'd have to make a major move on Mariejois soon anyway

I think Dragon will still want to have every possible resource on his side, Nika prophecy & all, while Sabo is more of a "we can kick IMU's ass ourselves" sorta dude.

Sabo is the Luffy of the RA, for whom plans mean nothing, while Dragon tries to maximize outcomes with minimal expenditures of both energy & men.

people think this is a gotcha moment? I never said anything about Garling doing anything in gods valley. Rookie garling losing doesnt mean anything, garling is at his strongest now. Oda will continue to showcase Imus powers while saving garlings for later, even this chapter he did no want to show garling fighting

While I don’t wanna defend the clown Moonman, this panel spread right here is frankly his last saving grace for now:

Otherwise, you gotta remember how Oda constantly shits on evil scum characters like him regardless of their strength just because they’re… evil.

You already went over this on your Kidd vs Shanks rant thread. The “goody two shoes” boys of this manga keep getting elevated while the bad boys get smacked for having “ugly hearts”

And current Garling did not change in that regard so…
