Thinking about it gryphon is likely how he arrived to marineford so quickly. Flight being pretty op when it comes to travel speed. Like big mom when traveling using Zeus or Prometheus is pretty damn fast even pudding with her carpet

Like Cerberus is pretty damn big so gryphon being big enough to either pick up their ship or at worst the main members makes sense

That's far fetched that they flew on top of Gryphon.

But,

Like Enma and Ame no Habakiri are twins,
  • one cut through Heavan and another cut theough hell.
  • One is purple/Dark, other is light/white
  • Both are given to siblings.
And Cerberus and Gryphon
  • Inspired out of Mythical Wolfs/Dogs. Though Gryphon isn't exactly a dog lol.
  • Cerberus guards Hell(Imu/Mariejois), shanks Gryphon Gaurds Treasure (One Piece)
  • Cerberus is White/Some light color and Gryphon is Dark/Dark~blue.
  • Both are given to siblings.

How come? Look how big Cerberus is also it could have been picking up the ship

Either way it was pretty much confirmed that shanks would have one when his twin brother did.

  2. Almost identical blades
  3. Both blades named after mythical creatures
  4. Shanks was in the holy land for a while

Or,
One Sword is inferior. Like Shamrock sword. That's why it was given Zoan fruit to match up with shanks.
Shanks sword can be supreme grade, whereas Shamrock sword can be 21 grade.

Kitetsu like also share the same design, just different color.

Then again it could just hold the main commanders on top if it can’t lift the ship

Or it’s simple and obvious because it’s just simple and obvious. Same way hawk having the dice fruit or Lola being obvious when you put 2 and 2 together despite all the people that throught it was too obvious

Ngl Sommers purple color scheme is growing on me

It being all black wouldn't suit him because he is a bit goofy with his personality, so the purple fits the nobility from his family, that even has a Gorosei among them, and makes him look more appealing with all his bs about love.
