How else are we suppose to interpret this narration?

I will have to apologize, I am really shit at finding things like this, I read it on this forum somewhere and I think going through Sandmans twitter will take too long.

The narration is to show the clash of two Emperors of the sea. It was never about whose haki is stronger or who is stronger but just to show that they are above a level where when they clash even the heavens split. It was same for BM and Kaido even though we know that Kaido is stronger than BM.

Gaban is afraid of kaidou, and Oden fell to a base kaidou without even using Acoc.

And he was holding back his strongest forms, while Oden's strongest attack fell short of knocking Kaidou out. Oden has a better portrayal than Rayleigh and Gaban. He's directly compared to Roger and placed on a par with Roger, who, by extension, is stronger than Rayleigh and Gaban. Hell, Oden's sword style was better than Roger and Rayleigh's.

Kaidou is stronger than Shiki, and stronger than Rayleigh and Gaban, after all, Kaidou was being called the embodiment of strength itself and the strongest in the world while these guys were all at their peak, in the 1v1 bet on Kaidou and not on Rayleigh, Gaban and Shiki that's how Kaidou is a bigger monster than them.

If Imu was possessing Saturn this chapter, the trick must be to be able to bypass his avatar and hurt him directly. And with enough power to bypass the black fire regeneration, as well.

I also have a feeling that Team Mariejois are more vulnerable in the titular city.
