Roger pirates: “Well captain, we’ve discovered the truth of the world! When are we taking down Imu?”

Roger:

All roger did was complete an open beta test ver of the grand line, after getting on his hands and knees to beg whitebeard for oden
Roger? Hes the only person to actively try to do anything and succeeded in at least knowing what happened lol.

BM and Kaido got cucked out of that and lost to him, and Whitebeard and Garp continue to not do shit for 40 years lmao

Everyone here except Roger and Rocks actually look bad give the context of knowing Imu now.
Post automatically merged:

It's crazy that when Imu unleashed his strongest COC ever, the kaidou who was right in front of him and yet it had no effect on this insane monster

@SkySanji @Ven437 @Hanzo hattori @Levi

The Conquerors is the aftermath of the 6 attacking him, this isnt Imu unleashing conquerors lol...

Dodger is gonna get generational slander if garp is the one that finishes Demon Xebec

Or maybe xebec gonna finish him self off :josad:
Garp probably will do it, he's called the hero of God Valley afterall.

This is Garp's highlight of the career. Even though Roger won't have a greater fight, his greatest defining moment is being PK. Garp has nothing after this, he's done. Garp has all the right to shine over Roger in this flashback.

Garp shining isn't even remotely the issue here.
The issue is Roger looking like a clown throughout the flashback. Simping, never having an on screen exchange with Rocks, disrespected by his crewmates, zero wins on screen, cucked etc.
Loda trying this best to make him Luffy, but a simp. The dumbification of Roger's character has far surpassed the allowable limits. It sucks

At this point, what even is Roger?
I don't see anything that makes him a legend that owned an era (15-20 years after Rocks) and defined the eras after his death. He's just a strong dude who had a strong crew who kept roaming around the seas. I guess that makes him Luffy's vision of PK....

I mean, I won't doubt his strength obviously, even though Oda hasn't shown that either. That's just agenda nonsense.
It's just that, he's far less remarkable of a character that vast majority of us imagine he would be.

IT's just that Loda went senile and has fallen off. Nobody gonna convince me that this is what we would have gotten, from Oda of 15 years ago.

Whitebeard himself says people don’t talk about the Roger pirates anymore. I’m not arguing anything, I’m just quoting what were told from the manga.
Wait, let's step back for a minute. Weren't you arguing that people don't talk about the Roger pirates anymore specifically as an argument against the fact that the bulk of marine officers do not know who Oden is? As in, the Roger pirates have somehow fallen into obscurity? Please elaborate on your wider point here?
I’m talking about multiple characters calling Ray and Gaban the strongest, and Gaban confirming it saying that he’s number 2 because he had a rivalry with Rayleigh.
Who are those characters? Are they people more aware of Oden's existence and strength than marine officers? How would they have gathered so much intel from his single year in the crew when the likes of Sengoku treat him like an obscure anecdote in Roger's final voyage?

Gaban is outright saying that he is the second strongest. Above anyone but Roger himself. If you want to take that statement seriously, especially considering that he is talking to people who (as far as he knows) have no concept of Oden as a Roger pirate, we might have to start another debate entirely.

No I’m saying the reason Sakazuki talked about the WBP in regards to Oden first was because that’s a group that is still actively talked about. No one talks about the Roger pirates anymore except the other old legends. (Stated in canon)

And I’m saying when there’s continuous conversation about the strongest Roger Pirates and two names are brought up and the Roger pirate affirms this ranking of he and Ray at the top, it’s clearly meant to tell us how oda views the power levels of the Roger pirates. Gaban literally just talked to them about Wano earlier this arc… cmon man. Just accept the narrative presented. There’s no need to mental gymnastics around it just to hype Oden of all people.

If you still trust oda again for this flashback over outdated believe its on you. He already made whitebeard, kaido and big mom run from garp and now their combo is useless on Imu. captain xebec soloing his own crew is the most normal thing next.

I think it's less him being senile but more unhinged

I don't think oda changed a lot through the years. One of the key pieces of evidence is that ryuma Zoro quote he dropped. Like he said he would have a back up protagonist if his preferred one failed that is a traditional more serious character. That means from the start he made concessions to what would sell instead what he like to draw

I think there is even a quote of him that he went with the boy boy girl trio as a starter with Luffy Zoro Nami cUsd he wanted to play it safe and that was what sold during that time (and still today) on jump

I just a oda that through success has no fear of cancellation or failing anymore
Doesn't mean it's better of course

@Akai2

Honestly, if Rayleigh is being treated like this, imagine Kizaru — who was going toe-to-toe with a weaker version of Rayleigh, the Old Rayleigh?
This one is prime Rayleigh, the one who could fight Kizaru while also supporting the Straw Hats.

Wow sentomaru never seen he stopped
That's crazy bro!!!!!

@Albino 👑 you found a brother dropped that quote that loldens swordsmanship is unsurpassed
