Would have been peak comedy the more that I think about it.

Yep, Davy Jones was the king, while Joyboy wasn't. Although the fact that the latter was aiming for the throne makes it seem like he's also nobility of the AK.

Joyboy might've been like a Rhaegar Targaryen-esque figure, an idealistic dreamer who was seen as a better alternative to his tyrannical father/brother, Davy Jones. He might've even fought for the AK under the pretenses he would've ousted Jones once the war was over.

Ancient kingdom was evil and oppressing could be one of the scenario.

The other scenario I have thunk is Ancient Kingdom was good, remember all the betrayal hints that Oda shown all over the story, DDJ likely had betrayed Joyboy, he claim the throne of the Ancient Kingdom to do all the heinous acts upon the world. Then later Imu led the 20 kingdoms coalition including Alabasta to overthrow them. Joyboy was trying to claim back the Ancient Kingdom, however both DDJ and Joyboy died and the was world destroyed.

How is it a throwaway line, did you legit just ignore the fact that the character's entire existence is modelled to be Shiki's Rival atleast during the Rocks years? I didn't bring up Ray and Gaban to say they are fighting on GV I brought it up to show how Ray and Gaban are 2 and 3 in Roger pirates, Silver Axe follows the same naming convention and if you squinted hard enough this entire Rocks flashback they are drawn exactly like Zoro and Sanji in their petty back and forths.

These things hold more weight than background panels in a flashback. If Silver Axe got stomped by Ganzui next chapter then I will have no problem saying BM > him. The current "anti-feats" are simply not enough to get the ball rolling.

This doesn't make sense though, because Rayleigh and Gaban are 2 and 3, but Shiki is number 3 so at best Silver Axe would be number 4. Which means they're explicitly not the Ray/Gaban of the Rocks pirates from the get-go.

Shiki already stomped Ganzui in this chapter according to spoliers lool, Silver Axe's only hope is fighting Gaban or Shiki himself. He can do it, but just know he'd be making a comeback from fraudwatch as opposed to us expecting that level of strength from him atp.

Lmfao man I didn't mean literally they have to be the same number, I meant that they are right next to each other in pecking order. Silver then Copper, Gold then Silver. I mean it's very obvious to me Oda just invented Silver Axe to give Shiki some sort of "rival" in the Rocks crew. He's not even a legit character outside of this far as I'm concerned, so the last thing I'm gonna do is just ignore his single reason to exist 😂

It'll take something more concrete for me, I need to see him disprove it rather than prove it, the proof has been in his existence imo.

Rooftop has Kaido and Mom but also powerful commanders downside that would need other strong fighter to hold them off.....Marco and Sanji are there for that.

GV is basically filled with all legendary pirate of that era in one location running around. And the strongest entity in the show has made it's presence.
And Oda choose 6 people to gangup on that guy. And those 6 people happend to be 3 OG Yonko + Xebec + Garp + Roger.
