That was not the case for the rocks pirate there whole thing was sticking together to get gold etc etc or back stabbing each other .
The dialogue from 1162 indicates that WB chose to stay with rocks not because he was his subordinate or crew member but as a person.
WB saying i drinking on your tab so i staying was more of a line showing he consider him friend .
WB is the only person that there for rocks while Kaido there to show off his DF and BM there after Kaido none of them there to help rocks or there for him even with them being crew members .
