Imo this Chapter is Blackbeard Upscale,
As I mentioned here before:

Shanks & BB didn't have a Normal Fight
Shanks met Blackbeard's True Form & got a Taste of what it's Capable of (Not Flesh BB who was with WB Pirates)

We literally have Shanks Flexing his Haoshoku Haki & saying "He needs to be Careful near Enemies"
And then He says "I wasn't Caught Off-Guard against BB"

This means that Oda is Indirectly saying, Shanks did indeed Try to Guard against BB by using Haoshoku Haki, but it didn't Work
So BB's True Form "Counters" Haki, He is a Being that even Haki doesn't work against

That's why He took Yami & said "It chose Me, I'm Fated to have this Power"
It's because BB was already Unique before He ate his DF, He is same as Darkness Powers
DFs are Given to Characters who resemble said DF, such as Doffy or Hancock or WB or Kaidou or Kata or Luffy ... etc
So just like Darkness DF represents a Fruit that "Counters" other Fruits, Blackbeard is a Living Being who "Counters" other Living Beings

Shanks wasn't Caught Off-Guard, it means He shielded himself with Haoshoku Haki, yet Blackbeard's Hand still went through,
This is Exactly similar to Luffy's Body being Immune to Enel's Lightning, and if Imu is a Being of Pure Haki/Energy/Void (Whatever it is), then imo Blackbeard's Body is his Natural Counter, making him D. mentioned by Corazon as "God's Natural Enemy",

CDs also say "D. will come & eat you", so again, imo this Chapter Upscales Blackbeard, and further shows that He is a Monster, and Imu's Counter.
