CoC KKG looks weak because it was used against Kaido, the toughest guy who falls from a skyisland and has a mild headache.

Kaidou one shotting Luffy was verse breaking at that time, honestly arguably the most impressive feat. It's unfortunate how it feels almost like a lie when later the likes of Kinemon, Kidd, and Law were tanking those attacks just fine.

There was a lot of false hype it seems looking back.

Kidd was never attacked by Kaido bar the fodder wind slashes. Law received the attack after Zoro took most of it.

Kinnemon is just plot armor at play.

Sometimes it’s just that simple. Bear in mind Kaido almost replicated that same feat against a far stronger Luffy using ACoC and G4.

Unless people wanna argue Kinnemon> Luffy in durability it’s just plot at play to keep Kinnemons story going.

He looks "bad" because Garp was Roger's equal when we thought WB was the only one. In fact, you can now argue Garp is more of a Roger equal than even WB. We were basically lied to by the narrator and Buggy (as we saw with Garling, this is not even an exception at this point though).

Obviously ignoring the fact that those two weren't lackeys and actually finished off WB's captain. While WB is busy playing tsundere underling to Polo Gram.

this flashback was a fall from grace. The expectations for WB are simply higher. Garp is what we thought WB would be when we read MF. That's the issue. Garp legitimately seems more of an equal rival to Roger than WB.

What this flashback showed was that Garp was indeed his first rival, at least as far as Marines are concerned, but I think its implied the rivalry between Roger and Whitebeard truly started post-GV with Roger implying they fought to death multiple times

It's still possible he is the one who gave Whitebeard his scar

He doesn't have much ambition to do anything meaningful really. He's content with being a follower which obviously gives him a portrayal downgrade from a Roger main rival to No.2 behind Rocks.

Still doesn't mean much when in the actual battles he has Roger locked in a stalemate and that without his fruit. He never really desired to beat Roger while Roger and Garp probably have.

WB is still stronger than both after this FB and his title is legit.

That's character wise. Power lvl wise Oda made it so obvious WB is untouchable. Oda actually stressed and focused on explaining WB standing power lvl wise more than any other character. It can't get more obvious than this

Maybe if an all out fight were to happen in the manga Roger wouldn't stay down until WB is unable to move (so kind of like Luffy vs Katakuri) but on paper WB has pretty much every stat over Roger.

I can't believe the once noble admiral fandom has become the dogs of pirates like Rocks the retard and Runbeard.

This is why the Holy Knight fandom is the only noble path in 2025.

Kaido can lift islands , think about the amount damage he can really do dropping them on other places.
But it seem he never did it vs anyone for decades lmao .
Plus we can't forget haki and that is a stat that Oda can do anything with to make someone stronger or even things up.

WB is not Roger's only equal. He had multiple, atleast with Xebec we can cope and say he was erased from history.

Harald probably didn't even exist as a character back then so while it's complete bs It's somewhat more acceptable than Garp. We were mislead about Garp, probably cause he was a marine and not an actual pirate rival. Garp was the one.
