All things considered this chapter looks pretty solid. Shows you how much this means to Oda that he gave a chapters worth of pure fighting for a flashback. We didn't get shit all for Oden vs Kaidou.

Oda just completely ripped off from the BM fight lol, it’s the exact same template. Even Domi Reversi buff works just like BM’s soul amp, and she had regen.

I wouldnt call kaido and especially bigmom the peak of haki too .
Shanks was able to negate an admiral’s transformation through a long ranged haki blast.
Joyboy did the same to the gorosei ( who are most likely awakened )
Characters on this level might be able to do that.

People should stop taking his panel of 5 characters as "strongest" (they were simply the pirates he respected the most) and his title as ultimate benchmark.

Looking at the raws, it doesn't seem like there's an unbreakable CoC barrier or something.

Even before the very end, Xebec is pretty fucked up in terms of bruises/bleeding.

like when Rocks was fighting Garling and his Domi reversi family, Oda took time to show us Garling was regenerating from some of rock’s attacks but we don’t see the Domi demons regenerating. We just cut to The demons having been killed offscreen

It’s not a retcon as demons were never shown regenerating in the first place

there is the thing with Brogy’s arm, but he didn’t really regenerate that. It’s still severed, he can just use it somehow.
