Wait, so are Garp and Dragon working together on evacuating the remaining people? I mean, Garp gave the order and Dragon threatened the Marine Guy? Kind of weird that they didn't interact directly, huh? I would hope we at least see that before the end of the flashback, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen
I don’t think so.

The way I took it was that Garp was ordering “his” Marines, the ones that came to God’s Valley with him, and it was probably Bogard he was speaking to.

Whereas Dragon is with his squad (probably the G11 mentioned) who were part of the initial mission.

So Garp’s Marines are happy to take and evacuate people, because they don’t have a clue wtf was going on, they showed up to some random bloodbath of slaves, pirates and Celestial Dragons.

Whereas Dragon’s Marines were part of it from the beginning and know that the higher ups really will not want any slaves getting out of there alive, so Dragon’s having to threaten folk.

I‘m pretty Garp does not know that Dragon is there.

Really weird tbh how Garp chujo has no clue where his son (who is only 17 at this time btw) is being stationed

Okay, this makes sense. Just kind of weird that Oda would have them on the same island and not interact.

Zenzu's agenda says Roger was at his prime at GV.
Roger's Haki usage during Oden's flashback looked much better than GV. While GV Roger's still figuring out ways to overcome CoC defenses.

Call it my agenda but imma die on this hill:

Peak Roger/WB>/~Pre-DomiRocks>Peak Garp

Garp is one of the last people that'd care about such details

Lmao

reality is that skysplits only happen when the following is true
A. Both people have CoC
B. Both have CoC infusion
C. Both have relative CoC levels

its why Wb/roger split, but he didnt vs Xebec

Not every other CoC attack is a skysplitter regardless of how strong the attack is. You don't need relative CoC to split skies. Luffy did it with Kaido before he even awakened his fruit.

Oda hasn't given me a real reason to think otherwise.

Roger and Garp are like 40? And both have complete control over their AdCoC, and have had AdCoC for atleast around a decade? It's not like they pick up dfs later on or something. Pretty confident they are in their primes, I think this is around the same age as Shanks currently is so it checks out.

It's actually even more obvious when you look at Whitebeard, Oda made sure he has AdCoC + Gura + His Supreme Blade by God Valley. If Oda wanted the readers to think he wasn't in his prime he would atleast design WB in a way where he doesn't give him his supreme bisento which is basically a status symbol.

IIRC he doesn't have it here, or atleast it's not designed like the final product.

By God Valley, WB has everything his final product had.

The last thing I'm about to do is act like these guys are not in their primes just because I didn't like how Oda drew their fights in a flashback or that it didn't meet my expectations. I need real logical reason as to why, the ages are right there, the haki is all there, their weapons are all there.
So admit that they are weaker than the yonkos. Have you posted anything in last few years without any agenda and not to please the admiral fanboys?
