Yeah, but we have no reason to think he's being reliable about his own pl there, it's not like he ever was shown to fight an admiral in his prime, that was what Roja did. The geezers clearly have a habit of exageration and being egotistical

I mean, he still fought Kizaru to a standstill despite being 78 years old and extremely rusty. I think that in Oda’s head, Prime Rayleigh is supposed to be substantially stronger than Old Rayleigh, but he didn’t really care to draw any impressive feats for Prime Rayleigh because he’s only a side character and it takes more time to draw high DC attacks

It's not about DC though, Prime Rayleigh's standing with other characters in verse is not *that* impressive, as he isn't paired with the top pirates/marines of his gen. And I mean, even tho Oda won't say it, if Old Ray can't beat Teach, prime Ray probably doesn't either. As far as I know, it's not like old age means you lose Haki or something, just your baseline stats get worse.
