Character Discussion Winners and Losers of God Valley

Any evidence it has higher AP too?

Seraphim cant take pacifista lasers but I bet they would have 0 issue with Transcendent Lily whatever the fuck
Sommers is harder to defeat than a tree. That’s why I think The Rayleigh’s attack has higher AP

are you one of the guys who thinks Coby is tough shit for destroying that big rock. Because big rocks and other inanimate objects are such a big deal huh?

Sommers is less durable than his thorns so that "harder to defeat than a tree" claim is dubious

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a character get done filthier than Gatling

And honestly I’d argue the Holy Knights were treated like trash as a group as well

Sure, Gunko got to solo half of the Strawhats but like… everything after has been horrible for them

Collateral diffed by Whitebeard, low diffed by Old Gaban, punted to the sun by Rayleigh, the commander lost alongside another Holy Knight in a 20v1, the list just goes on

If you’re a fan of the Holy Knights then you better pray God Valley is over cause if they run into Rayleigh and Gaban we’re probably gonna get a few more hypetool moments

Garp the Fist

The biggest winners are the Monkey D family.

Which should be to the shock of no one, really.

I don’t think there are any other massive winners. God Valley in an ideal world could be an arc of it’s own, not a couple of chapters. Because of that, you can see Oda picking and choosing characters that he’ll parcel out the limited screen time to. Ray’s important, so he get’s his Shakky plotline. Whitebeard, Kaido and BM are important, so they get a couple of fighting scenes. The others don’t really matter, so they basically get tiny one panels and some side by side scaling for Shiki, who has always been a weird character that Oda likes but not enough to ever actually do anything in the main story with.

In a perfect world it would be a Roger vs Rocks vs HK style arc, probably split into three plotlines for each of the main Roger Pirates

Roger: Main plot with Rocks and Garp

Ray: Fight for Shakky

Gaban: fight for the treasure

With Dragon’s story going on in the background, pretty much as it happened in series.

As it was, we only really got Roger, a bit of Ray and the Gaban plot was near enough offpanelled.

Garling is an obvious loser, but depending on what he’ll actually do as a villain in the future that might not matter.
