Character Discussion After how Oda handled the Kuja pirates during the God Valley flashback there is no way to deny he is misogynistic

The Kuja pirates made up like 30% of the God Valley flashback and they fucking sucked

Oda made them all simps

Shaky was the main catalyst for God Valley as everyone wanted to fuck her (Expected rocks who was there for his family,Whitebeard who was there his captain and Kaidos and Big mom who were there for the fruits)

Shaky was a plot device and a damsel in distress

But that is not even the worst part Gloriosa who was shakky's crewmate and friend did absolutely nothing during the part where saving her was the main focus

You know what was even worst about it? Gloriosas reason for helping Shakky is literally "If I helped Shakky,Roger would be gratefull" what the actual fuck?

Shaky is her crewmate and friend and her motivation for saving her is not even for her herself but to try to impress Roger?

What did Mysogonyda mean when he literally wrote a female character who would literally only save her female friend literally just for male approval?

I don't think Oda is deliberately misogynistic, just repetitive and a bit out of touch.

Like yeah, Gloriosa should've got more focus but she's hardly the only person who gets treated like this in the flashback:
- Rocks and Roger barely interact despite their "rivalry"
- Future Yonko just act like nothing happened and leave after being beaten by DR Xebec
- Silver Axe gets a hype entrance and is introduced as Shiki's rival only to do nothing

I'm getting the vibe that Oda just didn't remember to focus on her.

Also I'm pretty sure Gloriosa WAS worried about Shakky.

The Roger thing was kinda ass. Ngl Gloriosa is pretty badly treated as a character, I feel sorry for her.

Overall I think Oda's approach to female characters isn't great but I think it's not so much his attitude towards women (which does seem old fashioned) but more the way he writes.
