Your question doesn't have an answer in the manga and i am not Oda, so how can i answer it?
The weapon in the manga is described to be crafted, among other 11, above any other weapon.
Yet another way to avoid admitting that the "strongest swordsman" is such but he still to be wielding a weapon with only 11 equals.

It was a big mistake for Oda to have Mihawk say that pirate king is inherently superior to WSS.
He really wrote himself into a corner and will need to retcon stuff so that Zoro can surpass at least Roger from God Valley.
Oda probably thinking about introducing a bigger villain than DR Xebec for Roger lore so that he reaches his peak.

yes but my question dismantles the post of yours i replied to. because you are implying mihawk needs the strongest weapon, yet its perfectly possible it is the strongest weapon due to being mihawks.
I am not implying anything. I state the objective fact that Mihawk is thw strongest swordsman WHILE wielding the STRONGEST weapon. Also another fact is that the sword is one of the 12 strongest weapons in the entire world.
Another fact is that there is no evidence of Mihawk using, as his main weapon, anything other than the strongest weapon in the world or one of the 12 strongest weapons in the world.
I accept your hypothesis, it could be true. But the facts i list are all 100% objectively true.
Zoro does far more than that with just his willpower.

I swear that most people that pretend to be Roja and Shanks' fans just project Zoro's abilities onto them and then say they're not swordsmen because of that. We're still waiting for the haki Susanoo that they're supposed to have which is 100% based on Zoro turning into a 3 heads, 6 arms Demon God.
