No because the sword is a meito and was a meito at creation.. so even if it wasn't the strongest it was still among the 12 strongest.
Garp needs none of that.

Your question doesn't have an answer in the manga and i am not Oda, so how can i answer it?
The weapon in the manga is described to be crafted, among other 11, above any other weapon.
Yet another way to avoid admitting that the "strongest swordsman" is such but he still to be wielding a weapon with only 11 equals.
I really want to know what happened to the exclusive white CoC that only Roja, Shanks and Luffy would have.
We've seen Joyboy's all out haki, we've seen Roja, Rocks and Garp going all out, we've seen Roja and WB clash, Shanks' haki is weaker than any of these guys so...

yes but my question dismantles the post of yours i replied to. because you are implying mihawk needs the strongest weapon, yet its perfectly possible it is the strongest weapon due to being mihawks.
Harder to accomplish, not PK>WSS in individual strength bcs PK was never about that, which is one of the reasons why it is harder path.
Even tho, PK was already achieved but beating Mihawk wasnt acheived...

Sadly, yours is an hypothesis mine is a fact, i believe i do not have to explain you the difference.
I am not implying anything. I state the objective fact that Mihawk is thw strongest swordsman WHILE wielding the STRONGEST weapon. Also another fact is that the sword is one of the 12 strongest weapons in the entire world.
Another fact is that there is no evidence of Mihawk using, as his main weapon, anything other than the strongest weapon in the world or one of the 12 strongest weapons in the world.
I accept your hypothesis, it could be true. But the facts i list are all 100% objectively true.
Oda should have went to the cheesy route and had Roger been the previous user of the fire fruit and have his ultimate move be some haki fire sword shit. That way people could still cope.

Zoro does far more than that with just his willpower.
Regular, blue, purple and green flames
9 swords that cut for real
I swear that most people that pretend to be Roja and Shanks' fans just project Zoro's abilities onto them and then say they're not swordsmen because of that. We're still waiting for the haki Susanoo that they're supposed to have which is 100% based on Zoro turning into a 3 heads, 6 arms Demon God.
Seems that you cannot read what i wrote, along with being unable to read and accept manga facts.
Common behaviour among temple followers.
I never said he needs to have the sword to be WSS, I merely asked why does he need to use the strongest sword in the first place? I literally ask the question here:
Then it would be east to point to the panel where all of this is said?
Specially haki being a subset of Swordsmanship.
Which begs the question of why Mihawk needs the strongest weapon if his haki is the strongest. He should be the strongest even when wielding a stick, like Vergo or Kaido...
Now, since you are so obsessed about answering question that you ask, will you answer mine?
Why would the strongest swordsman with the strongest haki (as you claim) and skills (as in manga) need to use the strongest weapon in the world? Or one of the 12?
Kaido said it best, haki is all that counts, and he uses literally a normal morning star.

Wb has a weapon the same rank as does roger and nasjuro and fuji and likely rocks and shanks
And none of them have a black blade or the strongest weapon
