He said his sword knows no restraint to Luffy as in he doesn't guarantee Luffy doesn't die here, his sword might slip and split Luffy in half.

cause xebec wasn't tryna scar him...

xebec just poked kaido to jump up, then tossed him with his hands. He did not use a named attack or charged attack or a big attack or anything like that.

it was more like an adult just timing out a little kid.

Also, xebec at that point was just starting to lose his control. i think he purposely used attacks that got his 3 underlings out of the battlefield, so that they would be out of harm's way.

There's a reason why he begged dodger and garp to kill him and not his underlings. Cause they were so weak and he would have killed them.

So even as he was being controlled by imu, Xebec was still a honorable captain who cared about his underlings
