@ZenZu or maybe visit Lorentz National Park in the island of Papua, which seems to me is the most beautiful national park in this country,

And the most distinct, because when i saw this pic below, i thought the scenery could pass as something from USA/North America :

I haven't tasted either of Gomak Noodle or Lontong Medan, but they look delicious

Anyway, i'd also recommend Sate Maranggi/ Maranggi Satay, and Soto Betawi.
The former is probably most easily found in West Java province, and the latter in Jakarta.

..........But man, Jakarta is hot as hell, just a precaution. When i visited there in middle school, i remember when i went to the inside part of the Monas/ National Monument, i was drenched in sweats in just 10 minutes

Then again, Jakarta is near the sea, so

The other foods i recommend are..... maybe Sate Madura or Madurese Satay, maybe Coto Makassar also

Padang/Western Sumatran foods seems really popular in Indonesia, but they tend to be spicy, so not really popular with me.

But people really like the dish of Rendang.

Dope, I'll keep these spots in mind. I'm not too interested in forestry (that isn't tropical) like in the first pic since Canada has enough of that like you said, but some of these places look and sound unique.

In terms of urban places, what are some major spots?

I'm pretty sure the cities of Jakarta Bandung and Surabaya in East Java are the 3 biggest urban areas in this country

Outside of them, the city of Medan in North Sumatra, and Depok and Bekasi are also big

But, Jakarta is hot as hell like i said, with severe traffic problem.

Even Bandung often feels hot these days, this city used to have fog in the morning because of it's coldness in the 90s and maybe early 2000s, but now they don't appear 95 % of the time

Liking Spicy Foods means you may like Padang/West Sumatran foods, and Manado foods from North Sulawesi province

NNgg, i'm not sure about the weather, but here in Bandung i think we've been receiving big rains regularly

I'm not sure what season would be the best time to visit, asking other Indonesians here or Google or AI might be better than asking me

Since the country is so large I doubt I'm going to have time to go through it all. Especially since some parts are not connected?

@ZenZu Off tangent, but have you seen the beauty of Iran?

I've googled the natural beauty of every province of Iran, and at least the vast majority of provinces has a few stunners, i fell in love with the country

The architecture is beautiful also. Oh almost forget the foods seems delicious as hell.

For me it's a must visit country.

I dare to bet Iran is more beautiful than any country smaller than it, and even all countries up to twice it's size ( so up to India, Iran is 1.65 million sq km, India is 3.4 million )

But, maybe among countries that are at least somewhat near it in size & larger, some could compete. I can think of Ethiopia, South Africa, Bolivia and Argentina also. Chile is much smaller but maybe it could compete.

But my money is on Iran.
So, i recommend Iran to you. What do you think about Iran?

Btw i just remember this : probably the most spectacular waterfall in Java, Tumpak Sewu, with Mount Semeru in the background. this is in East Java province.
