The marine was lacking strong fighter, they are beyond helpless other than having Garp on their side.

I feel like a lot of the issues people had with GV and Harald could have been resolved if Oda actually showed the good side of the Marines.

You know, helping civilians, saving lives, stopping powerful pirates, changing the system from within.

It would explain:
- Garp and other Marines staying with the Navy
- Harald wanting so bad to join WG
- Why people tolerate CDs in general

I thought it was dumb but then I remembered Rocks cut the island in half before he was even domi reversi.

That one cut only slice it 1/3, it would have need 5 more cuts. Also the island would not have sink that easily, it is connected to the undersea ground as one whole thing unless the damage is so severe that the island splits like bread crumb.

Oda still wants to have his big SWORD reveal.
It's the same issue we're having with IMU's design.
In order to "maximize" a future reveal, he is omitting or keeping things in the shadow.
Problem is, when you're doing this over 20/30 years, a single reveal can't fix the missed opportunities.
