Harald saw exactly what he’s doing. He’s taking all the blame of the giants transgressions in the past thousand years onto himself.

Realize what he just saw:
1. He was unable to help his closest friend because of his dream and people
2. He saw his friend was murdered and an island destroyed because a member of a clan committed a crime generations ago.

It’s quite clear why Harald had to go all in. He doesn’t want Elbaf to be the next god valley and he wants his friends loss to mean something.

Sure he may be signing up to work for a devil, but it’s become clear that his people will be safer when they’re no longer this devils enemy. And if he needs to be the sacrificial lamb for his people than he’ll do it. Remember the warlord system didn’t exist yet. At this point only being a WG member will keep them safe.
Any man can see that being a sacrficial lamb in this scenario is just a negative thing.... especially if YOU are the only person that can stand up to WG.

you know they will enslave you and your people... you've already seen it
He is lucky gaban and shanks protected Elbaph

I don’t like that Oda is going full in on making Rocks a tragic hero
It seems like Oda wanted to make Shanks and Blackbeard's fathers the opposite of each other.

Shanks is always shown to be more on the good side while Blackbeard is more on the villain side.

While their fathers are the complete opposite, with Garling being more on the villain side and Rocks more on the good side.

They can destory elbaph now and would have dont it by now if not for gaban + SH's so whats the point? Kuja warriors are very famous WG could've easily took advantage of them if not for hancock
Hancock protected her people by being a Shichibukai and then defeating koby + navy, she was unfortunate that BB also invaded...
Elbaf is an actual military power that terrorized the world though, the government takes them seriously, and people around the world despise them and see Elbaf as a threat to global stability. The Kuja just have a bunch of gooner fans, and the WG didn't take them seriously until Hancock, and even then, they didn't send an admiral against her. Hancock literally thought she could do whatever she wants because shes beautiful

There are hundreds of countries protected by the world government. Again, Harald has never seen anything bad befall of them, as such it’s clear why he thinks it’s better to be with them than against them.

They didnt send an admiral to no one wtf u talking about? Why would they do that

@soupongo Fr though idk why Oda decided to have GV just randomly sink because reasons, instead of having Uranus be used to wipe it out
Because it wouldn't make sense

Uranus wasn't used up until this point because they didn't have a power source for it

You'd have to explain the power source mysteriously disappearing in a 30 year span. That's just another open plot line that Oda would have to close

Can we be 100 percent sure this isn't part of the ancient weapons doing the flooding stuff? Doesn't seem like it though. So I guess we can officially upscale the verse. Three Op top tiers going all out can potentially sink a single island
