I think the prevailing difference between Sanji fans and Zoro fans on this board - even among stans - is that Sanji fans are better at differentiating between what they prefer and want from what analysing the material tells them.

Personally, I would prefer Sanji to have Conqueror's Haki and Power of Love, and I believe that's where we're headed.

Conceptually, I don't care all that much for PoL, but that doesn't mean Oda hasn't done legwork to establish it.

It’s an established sword style in the verse that any swordsman can learn specifically to cut fire. Zoro can’t cut light using “FoxFire” style.

Then it's a good thing we have the author on record making the distinction. The issue is that people want it to be another way.

And other examples that have no indication of Haki - like Rouge carrying Ace for so long, and Kuma returning to Bonney.

Ironically, I think you're the one forgetting that. Oda establishes his own rules in his fantasy world and he made it clear that being able to physically deflect lasers with your body is more unique and harder to explain than a swordsman simply using a swordsman technique and cutting fire or water. I'm not the one making the distinction, Oda used his characters to make that distinction himself. You're essentially comparing apples and oranges on the pretext they're equally impossible feats irl.
