Xebec didn't want to die once the curse was lifted, he planned to get out of the island but it was simply was too late because of the HKs.

That hypes Garling even more.

Something about this paneling is weird. Garp and Roger are right there, but evidently time passes after Garling supposedly kills Rocks and we clearly see Rayleigh and Gaban ask where Rocks is afterwards.

Not to mention its unlike Oda here to not draw Rocks' death onscreen, its offscreened and the God Knights disappear.

Idk if that implication that he's alive or something but it might be...

It IS weird, I've been thinking this since the full summary.

I think it's pretty clear that Xebec is dead, even Rayleigh answers to Roger saying "Xebec is dead". The black panel is just to make it dramatic imo. What's strange is that would mean that Ray & Gaban found Roger & Garp (few meters beside Xebec's body) and took them, but why would the HKs let them do as they please?

I think this hints at another confrontation that happened right after Xebec's death, maybe that's when Gaban & Sommers fought and will be revealed in a small flashback of Sommers or Gaban later in Elbaf (?).

Ray and Gaban are more bandaged doing cardio and fighting fodders than the "2 hp King" who fought GB, maybe Warling stomped them off-screen and they just barely managed to run away.
