That makes a lot of sense, I love that a lot. It can relate to umibozo too then. Maybe imu is the wrath of the ocean personified after all.

It's so weird those cultists could abuse summon like that but hilarious they summoned Brook too instead. That's gonna have even more revelations and weight to it in future too.
We don’t know for sure where Imu came from, dude doesn’t seem human and I don’t fully believe he came from space just because it would feel a bit random since the aliens seem related to be connected to Joyboys camp

Aye, I prefer imu to relate to the earth/planet itself or the ocean specifically. I really don't want them to be an alien anymore.

I like your earth God idea too, how imu relates to that. It fits a lot.

The Abyss = Hell.

Earth God from the first world = Devil.

Imu is his incarnation, just like JB is Nikas.

Imu literally looks like the Devil.
I agree that Imu is the Devil. But I think someone had to bring him into the world imo. Theres the line in the Harley about humanity’s greed causing destruction cause they touched the forbidden sun which after that is when the earth god attacked.

When you look at the Gorosei they are named after planets, earth is somehow missing. The sun is Nika. Imu is earth. AkA the Earth God.

Forbidden Sun = Forbidden source of power = Forbidden fruit in the bible.

Oda went full biblical with the Harley.

Isnt it just the same idea as Luffy or Joyboy being Nika? If we assume that Imu is another deity, they he would have been human 800 years ago until he ate a Devil Fruit when the fruits were created, assuming his powers come from one. Then he was made immortal by a previous user of Law's fruit.

The Devil would be immortal on its own, Laws fruit is a red herring Imo. Its not what makes Imu immortal.

Imu is the incarnation of the Devil not the devil himself, its possible that something possessed the Nerona King is my ongoing theory.

Aye excellent point there too man. Imu could represent a geocentric model of the universe vs a joyboy heliocentric one too.

Exactly this man. We have Pandora and Prometheus as 2 sentient flames for mother carmel and big mom. And the mother flame ofc.

Oda said mothers are the opposite of adventure too. That might become even more relevant somehow.

I brought it up when the Harley chapter came out. Nika and EG are totally opposed in all ways, be it enslaving/dominating vs Liberating, Oppression vs Freedom and Geocentrism vs Heliocentrism.

Interesting, Hmm.

I think the issue is how Imu refers to himself. He doesn’t speak human. And even a human who ate a Devil Fruit would still be treated more human than how Xebec treated Imu imo.

Yeah thats possible too. The Nerona King (Imu or another name I guess), consumed this fruit like Luffy and/or Joyboy did. It is possible that it grants immortality without Law's fruit I guess.

My only reasoning on that is Doflamingo's desire was clearly a means to mimick Imu, and Ivankov even reiterates that theory that Law's fruit was used I think. But its not ironclad or anything

They just posit on the Ope being used because no way someone from 800 years ago is still around. For example Imu makes the Gorosei functionally ageless by giving them powers.

He speaks in a ye olde type way (which makes sense, hes over 800 years old) and refers to himself in the 1st person, which could just because he's a conceited douche lol but yeah it could also be the demon posessing him, imo both can be true.

And idk, Emeth and Zunisha dont even refer to Luffy as Luffy. They call him Joyboy lol. Then you have Gorosei who call him Nika or Joyboy. Imu calls him Joyboy

To me thats similar to whatever "Monster" Rocks considers Imu, we just dont know what Imu is in the context of the Harley Text and the image. Be it the Earth God or something else entirely.

Im sure we'll know by the end of this arc. It seems to be at least giving us this answer primarily.

According to Arthur, it's apparently a very immature way to refer to oneself as well.
