Maybe if OP was more of a grimdark story and it was set up from the start I could see it.
A spurned "child of destiny" infuriated by his inability to belong, trying to take back the future that was rightfully his from one who he never viewed as deserving it.
But I doubt Oda would write Saint Shanks like that.





Is it his eye scars injuries, meaning they are fresh ? Or is it an injury contracted when he allowed Fisher Tiger to escape ? If it's the former, it'd mean that Blackbeard scarred him shortly before his arrival in MJ(so when Saint Shanks was 24). If it's the latter, it might be a self inflected injury that Saint Shanks caused to himself to make it seem like he got it during Fisher Tiger's escape
