I wonder which injury Shamrock is referring to here ? :Think: Is it his eye scars injuries, meaning they are fresh ? Or is it an injury contracted when he allowed Fisher Tiger to escape ? If it's the former, it'd mean that Blackbeard scarred him shortly before his arrival in MJ(so when Shanks was 24). If it's the latter, it might be a self inflected injury that Shanks caused to himself to make it seem like he got it during Fisher Tiger's escape

In either case, the bandages certainly suggest Blackbeard scarred him around that time(15years ago), which is presumably around the same time of his duels with Mihawk.

Morally grey/evil Shanks was always unlikely for this kind of story anyway.

Maybe if OP was more of a grimdark story and it was set up from the start I could see it.

A spurned "child of destiny" infuriated by his inability to belong, trying to take back the future that was rightfully his from one who he never viewed as deserving it.

But I doubt Oda would write Shanks like that.

Nah he doesn’t need to climb the Holy Knights if his aim is to destroy the WG. He is a schemer who wants to arise thru the Government, he doesn’t want to destroy anything. He is a two faced coward lying about freeing Fisher Tiger. Lol

Imagine still having the idiocy to oppose Papa Lee on Saint Shanks when I was literally the only one who predicted this exact development. Don’t act like anybody but Papa Lee argued for this with prejudice. Lol
