I did not say there's a contradiction. You just can't decide who clashed with who based on that statement alone. Kaido clashed with Roger is as true as Kaido clashed with Big Mom from that statement.

It's not recent, they learned it sometime after it was done, yet WB did not act. If he did not bother clashing with Kaido over a friend's death, there's little reason to believe he was having clashes with him over territory.

1. Oden died 20 years ago he traveled with Whitebeard 5 years, plus 1 year with Roger plus 5 years dancing overall 31 year.

So Whitebeard didnt clash with Kaido in last 31 year at least.

2. Big Mom and Kaido didnt even see each other for decades ( 20 years minimum ).

3. Saint Shanks became yonko 6 years ago so no direct fight with Saint Shanks too

Its very unlikely any of yonkos fight directly.

4 . Buggy is 39 old and joined Roger pirates when 9 yet to his knowledge only Whitebeard was able to fight equally with Roger.

So either Kaido never fought Roger or he fought and was inferior ( considering only WB was saw as his equal to Buggy knowledge )

Thats just possible explanation , Roger and WB only meet for first 12 years after God valley so why you find it hard to believe that he didnt fight Garp in his last 5 years of voyage ?
