A bunch of miserable muppets with negative memory retention think that archers aura projecting illusory arrows at each other is some jumping the shark moment in a manga filled with characters physically reacting to various aura projections, characters reacting to literal ghosts and characters utilising ki.

I haven’t even read the chapter yet but I just read the raws as the archers knowing that they are in range of each other lmfao. Which is just an extension of Danto knowing he was being targeted by reading the flow of troops and realizing something was wrong with the amount of resistance he was encountering. It’s just an extension of reading a battlefield through instincts but through the filter of master archers instead of tacticians lol.

This is pretty definitional plot convenience so Hara can justify not killing Jin and Tan.

They'll probably switch to regular arrows next. I think the phantom arrow thing is just a way for Seika Un to acknowledge Jin's ability before taking him seriously in a proper archer duel. It's probably a demonstration of martial prowess, kinda like how Chinese martial artists use stupidly elaborate weapons that are all flat out inferior to a simple spear.
Course Hara could have just had Jin fuck up a Zhao General or two to catch Un's attention but that requires setup plus time and Hara is suffering from WZI Arc PTSD.
