Ngl, the deep covenant forcefully attuning your personality towards unquestionable Imu worship as a result of just one attempt to resist it... That's very clearly setup for Gunko's whole thing. I guess that also brings some room for speculation in terms of any other HKs being slightly less horrible before attaining it.

So because of the Deep Sea Contract, Harald slowly ended up getting turned evil.
Not being possessed or being domi reverse, just simply turned evil, that would explain Gunko as well, she used to be good in the past but now that she is under Imu, she is now evil.
Oh no don't tell me that some of the Elders and Holy Knights used to be good, but because of the Deep Sea Contract and Abyss Contract, they are now evil.
I hope that is not the case for all them, I don't want to suddenly turn out that Garling or Saturn in the past used to be good guys, but because of Imu, they are now evil.

Harald was given the God's steel rank, and this gave Imu enough ability to control him from a distance. The middle rank is the one where he can control you from anywhere because if he couldn't control the Holy Knights from anywhere it would be a problem. Shanks only took the lowest seal, and he warned Harald about going beyond that because then he wouldn't be able to escape Imu's influence even if he tried to.
We haven't actually seen many people with the God's Steel rank, so we should actually eventually see more of them. Prospective Holy Knights. It's possible Lucci could get one maybe. He is one of the only people with a dark philosophy, after all.
