Future Events Why ZKK narratively makes sense.

You can't retroactively apply stuff like that. You can't say because in the future, Luffy and Zoro will become PK and WSS, that Kaido's death now will be a grand one by default. It's a terrible argument.

The war Kaido intends to die in, isn't this war.
He wishes to die in the World War while going after the One Piece, Wano is meant to be a preparatory stage for this upcoming war.
However, the Wano war will be the war in which he dies.

If the Wano war is the "World War" he seeks, then he wouldn't have an entire plan based off leaving Wano, seizing the Ancient Weapons and claiming the One Piece.
He quite literally says "We are turning this country into a pirate empire in preparation for the coming world war!!"

If he dies during the preparation stage of his "World War", against the Alliance. He will not be dying a grand death.
You can only retroactively say he died a grand death once Luffy and Zoro have achieved their goals of PK and WSS.

But at the moment of his death in Wano, he will have simply just died to an Alliance of Samurai and Worst Gen Pirates, he will not regard is as a grand death at all.
Lmao, yes you can. If this is the battle that Kaido dies in, this is the one he will be known for. A grand death brought about from a Pirate Alliance of the Worst Generation members. Then when Luffy and Co all achieve their Dreams, it elevates the mythos 10 fold.

And again, what are you talking about? Oda has been jamming it down our throats that Kaido has been trying to die for years now. All these suicide attempts, and challenging the Navy and other Yonko's all by himself, getting captured to try and get executed. This wasn't all some precursor to him building up to the final war. He wants to die a grand death, and doesn't care how it happens.

Oda has already made statements that this War in Wano is going to eclipse the Marineford War, which is the war Whitebeard died in. So if Kaido dies in this war, he gets exactly what he wanted.

I don't think it was ever stated that Zoro killed him. He slashed him, but often times wounds like that aren't fatal in one piece.
Post automatically merged:

Also, there is not a single major arc I can think of where Zoro defeats the main antagonist. Luffy is the main character and he will always get the final hit on the main villain.
Hes dead.
Luffy doesnt kill zoro does, besides theres 2 yonko here for a reason.

You can die in a massive war and it wont be a grand death, kaido gettig his head chopped off after his plans being foiled from under his nose is in no way shape or form a grand death like wb who reinvigorated the great pirate era and died like a man on his feet with no scar on his back

Depends how he dies.
Did the marines who akainu killed for insubordination die a grand death JUST because it was the war of best ?
Exactly. His death would be even less significant in the EoS war with all the big named players who will be apart of it. As opposed to this War on Wano where Kaido is the centerpiece for the entire thing, and the reason it was started in the first place. This is the war to take down Kaido. His name will forever live on through accounts of this War if he dies here.

Of course he cares how he dies.
Why would he even mention Whitebeard doing it "right", if doing it right isn't a concern for him ?
Why would he bother with destroying the world with a great war ?
Why would he bother with getting the Ancient Weapons ?
Why would he bother with claiming the One Piece ?

How can he consider a death to a weaker force than his a "grand death" ?
The entire point of the World War is to assist him with his dream of a "grand death", dying before that Project even starts isn't a "grand death".
In Kaido's mind, he will not be dying a "grand death", but for the reader, it will be a "grand death" since he is dying to the future PK and WSS.
You can't mix around these two things.

Nope not at all.
Hes made an alliance with meme and has plans for wano to build an empire get ancient weapons and wage war on the wg and marines. He wants to die a glorious death in the biggest war the worlds ever seen.
Him dying because of a raid that snuck under his nose to sneak him whilst he celebrating thwarting all his plans in a closed country that no one will see (unlike wbs which was broadcast around the world) is not how he wants to die.

Kaido views Oden's death as a Grand Death, and nobody outside of Wano will ever have any account or recollection of the matter. So what do you think it would mean to him to die in a war that was specifically brought on to bring him down? The Wano War is the war to bring down Kaido. Kaido himself is infamous all throughout the World. So dying in a war that was dedicated to his demise is giving him exactly what he wants. His name would live on forever in infamy because of it.

Oden died surviving an hour in boiling oil hotter than magma holding his subordinates who he saved in the end whilst he had wano cheering him on.
Kaido will die alone with all his plans foiled.

But his name will live on in infamy because of it. Which is what he wants.

Will it ? Whats the name of thr dragon ryuma cut down?
No will talk about kaido in wano
Just the new ryuma who slayed him and the people who liberated wano.
When the legend is talked of it will be spoken about zoro slaying a dragon
Not kaido being slayed by a swordsman.

Kaido's perspective is the relevant one. If he dies to pirates he views as brats, he isn't dying a grand death.
He can't consider his death a grand death after he's dead the same way the reader and the rest of the OP world can.
He will die thinking he lost to some foolish brats but in reality he died to the future PK and WSS.
He won't be able to know that if he's dead.

Regarding how the battle is going on. I kinda think the alliance might fail somehow. This is something which came to mid from one recent episode of one piece(936), where zoro shows concern regarding the battle.
He says "Too many captains might sink the ship, I will stop fretting..." this line when reading in manga too made me think that they will fail at their attempt somehow. Though not sure how. Maybe it could just be a random dialouge which oda gave, but given its zoro and him being shown concern, I think there could be some foreshadowing. Or maybe Zoro is prepared for for whatever his worries were.

Kaido doesn't have to know it. It's the manner in which he dies that's important. Dying in a huge war that is supposed to Eclipse Marineford would suffice, as opposed to dying on some unknown Island in an unknown manner. Much like how nobody remembers Xebec or the Island he died at. Dying here on Wano is enough to cement Kaido's name into history for him to never be forgotten. It's not a matter of what Kaido thinks but rather how the World will remember this war, and that is, how the Borders of the Country of Wano was finally opened up due to the downfall of Kaido. If he's killed here, this will be the battle he is most remembered for, and where he met his demise.
