HBO: Harry Potter Reboot TV Show (TBA)

I want to see it but I fear it too
Same here

Looking forward to it but we know how things like this go

Constant comparisons to it's predecessor and determining whether it's better or worse

That on top of the nostalgia goggles (most of us grew up reading the books or watching the movies) and we're in for a rough ride

Plus it's a TV show so it won't have the same feeling as the movies

Its gonna be trash and I hope it gets canceled to show if you want to deviate from the creator owned work for a profit gain. Then it better if you just create a new character to begin with...

Why did they have to race-swap Snape?

He was such an iconic character when portrayed by Alan Rickman, and I do not think anyone else will bring the same energy to what are supposed to be Snape’s appearances throughout the novels.

The new Trailer doesn't look too hot. It gets destroyed by social media. Seems like everyone knows this will eventually bomb and can't reach the highs of the movies.
I don’t see any problem with the trailer. I don’t see a lot of negative opinions about it on social media, so it’s probably targeted for you to see it. There are a lot of edits about the trailer. There might be 1 or 2 things to say about the reboot but to hate the series just for a trailer doesn’t seem very intelligent.

‘Pretty sure you would remove a lot of these negative opinions if you exclude JK Rowling haters, books’ fanatics, original movies fans and racists who only have for argument that Snape shouldn’t be black. I saw someone saying they went woke just because of Hermione being Portuguese. I don’t think she’s shining in the trailer, but most people are biased because she’s replacing Emma Watson and everybody loved Emma Watson, but years later when she went pretty, people were making fun of her when we were kids.

Don’t compare with the movies or nostalgia will just fuck you up during your whole watch. Watch it as a separate thing. If Harry Potter movies released today, you would probably see all these negative comments because that’s how social medias work.

The main problem is it was built to be different, kin to be more like the books. However from what I see its not. It the same, like a reboot nobody asked for. Now that is being hasty to judge on the trailer but its what it is.

Trailers are nothing more then a comercial for your product,so its in your best interest to show the best of that said product. If they already did its not that impressive and if they didn't they should fire the person in charge of it-because it did the opposite. The only thing they achieved are memes of the black actor of Snape.

Don’t compare with the movies or nostalgia will just fuck you up during your whole watch.
The movies had a top tier actor team which they can not compete against. Plus the Soundtrack by John Williams makes this a non competition.

And no,I'm not a diehard Movie fanboy,I read the books in my youth and they are supreme in every way to the Movie.

I never saw any potential for this series or a reson why we needed this. Main problems are that the movie actors have been too iconic, the bar is set too high for the actors of the series to begin with. That's the one thing. But the other one is that we already know about the fate of all characters, how is there any suspension left for the series when we know exactly who lives and who dies by now? The Harry Potter Universe is still interesting but they should've decided to take a different path with this. Hogwarts Legacy showed how it could be done, same universe but the story being far in the past opened up new possibilities. Here you could have gone the opposite direction, if I was the producer I'd have gone for a story that takes place AFTER the movies, that would have left room for new characters with new storylines and all. Also no people that aren't racist would have complained about a black potions teacher when it's not Snape but simply a complete new character. But I guess they're lacking the creativity and courage to come up with something new on their own as it's mostly the case nowadays, that's why we're getting all those reboots lately.
