Exactly. Mihawk was never stalled. He was testing Vista's potential to see if he had the power to be a worthy opponent in the future.

Oda showed us the difference between their strength by Mihawk's ability to fight Vista while focus on Luffy without being hit by an attack. No other character in the manga has shown the capable of fighting a YC in battle while completely distracted without being hit.

No other character has been around since chapter 50 with not so much as a scratch (Shanks and Dragon come close but not even then post recent flashback). Mihawk is HIM, his lore will be interesting to say the least. And I'm really curious as to how he reacts (being Dracula and all) when someone finally makes him bleed. Does he lose his calm and go full vampire?

Kaido's Zooan design is definitely better. But Loki still has hybrid form to show off.

Kaido's hybrid was pretty underwhelming tbh. Too similar to his base.
