It has never been stated if this is the reason or not. However, I see nothing wrong about making plans there in a small group of people cooking together. If mafia gets any info they couldn't otherwise have gotten then we know that there's a traitor among us.

This isn't accurate, you're misrepresenting what I said. I said to Melkor specifically that it was weird he was using Ekko's legacy as a reason to scum read Ginger, as he would have no reason to believe Ekko was accurate or worth picking up his legacy from, and would have some reason to not regard it. I have no idea what Ginger was using to scum read Melkor and it's possible that it may have been on the basis of Ekko scum reading him, but if not, you have wholly misrepresented my position.

Right but specifically using his legacy as a reason to scum read another player just makes no sense to me. If you *know* he was wrong on you then there's nothing to suggest he was right on anyone else, and you have at least one case where you know he was wrong. Doesn't really make any sense unless you believe he had a good strike rate - I certainly have no interest in following the legacies of someone who was way off. It's even worse in your case because Ekko was much more sure about you being scum than he was Melkor.
