Yes, but from a storytelling standpoint it doesn't make sense. If characters are eliminated from the final race to the One Piece, it's to tighten the noose, they’re not going to come back as competitors against Shanks, Buggy, Blackbeard and Luffy to find the One Piece. They’ve been definitively eliminated from the race. However, it's possible they return as passive spectators of the events

Agreed. Don't see Oda shitting on Magellan again after ID. If anything more likely to happen is somebody tryna invade ID and getting put down by the Venom Demon.

Though Doffy recruitment to the HKs, after this arc, assuming some of the HK get put down should be very likely. See no other reason as to why the CD wouldn't just order Magellan to put him down already.

I don’t think Doffy would become a HK. That’s the goroseis call and I doubt they’d order Doffys freedom. But we have seen the Marines free dangerous individuals to recruit them into their folds in the past.

It would be one of the worst things Oda has done ever. The entire point of Doffy´s flashback is how he lost his standing in Mariejois because of his fathers naivity, it´s what made him so evil, lead him to killing his father, his mothers death, eventually him killing Corazon. What´s the point if Doffy just had to wait out an invitation back in lol?

And it would be dumb for the Gods Knights too. Doffy is an open rebel who stole from the Tennyrubuto and blackmailed them, he clearly was one of the biggest threats for the government, and after they gave him a warlord deal, he clearly betrayed the government and exploited the deal to his own ends, even attempting to wipe out a government nation and kill an admiral. While the Gods Knights can´t exactly pearl clutch, they should be able to recognize treason and opportunism. No one can seriously think Doffy would be a good soldier in a war at this point.
