General & Others Has Akainu been underwhelming since the TS?

During MF, Akainu seemed like a ruthless mofo who doesn’t take shit from anybody and who would do anything to kill the pirates and enforce Absolute Justice, but this changed after the TS. In all of the times that we have seen him since the TS, he was either getting his authority undermined by Fujitora, getting trash talked by the Gorosei and being treated like a yappy dog, or being too scared to attack the Kaido and BM alliance. Has Oda changed Akainu’s characterization after the TS?

Fujishiro

Just chilling

You weren't supposed to props Admirals rn?:josad:

Kaido can gain his glory back. But Big Mom is fucking meme and trash.

Akainu solos Fat Meme Pirates.
I prop everyone cause i love them all haha, and its just in jest bb.

Big mom last chapter bore through thousands of feets with a casual-ish attack, her character sucks tho ill agree with ya on that.

Easy to puff your chest out when fighting a man on his deathbed :kayneshrug:

now he’s become an impotent office worker. We even have people like Fujitora outright disrespecting him. Greenbull even ignored his orders. Dude can only bark now.
I always thought is was weird that Akainu was all the way back in the city when Coby, Helmeppo, and that other Marine were trying to hide. Shouldn’t it be much more important for an Admiral to be facing the WBP instead of killing a few random fodders who are hiding? Maybe Akainu was also scared of WB, and he was only killing the other Marines that were hiding so that he could save face and look ruthless instead of cowardly

I don't think so. Akainu still couldn't do anything when he sees Shanks. And he couldn't overpower heavily wounded Marco until the reinforcements + 2 Admirals arrived in the next chapter. He was hiding under the ground after WB two-shotted him and he only showed up after BB killed WB. His biggest accomplisment is probably forcing pre-ts Blackbeard to retreat by knowing that BB wouldn’t accept a battle without a strategical plan, then he didn't even chase him afterwards, he was completely ok with the fact that pre-ts blackbeard retreated.

:milaugh: This is actually pretty plausible. Hell we saw when WB beat his ass he hid underground. Then only popped up to talk that absolute justice crap when he was sure WB was dead.

Marineford was the arc that introduced Akainu and he was also the last admiral to be introduced so he was hyped to the point to be able to fight for a bit with near death WB and finally give Ace the death blow which is both a crucial moment for the story and something that gave Akainu some sort of relevance for Luffy beside being an admiral, he was put somewhat a step above the other admirals.

Then he had the fight with Aokiji and conquered the FA position. Cool, but since that point he basically disappeared from the story. He sometimes shouts orders, Fuji shouts back then the gorosei ridiculize him, he accepts Fuji idea to abolish the Shikis and so on. He is way way more passive from his intro arc the few times he appears. He almost seems another character compared to the hot headed Akainu we knew in Marineford (which on one side is normal since he has way more respinsibilities but he changed to the point to seem another character).
