The real issue with this forum is that it's just unnecessarily toxic as fuck most of the time and casual reader wants to spend time here trying to have a real conversation about the manga, when the guy next to him is still going on about feats from Marineford and Dressrosa. Non powerscalers get tired of this. Quickly too. Onigashima was the perfect time for the forum, because it gave the powerscaling community everything it wanted and more. Material every single week to sling shit at fans of characters they don't like and the same was true on the other hand. But now we've shifted into a more lore centric part of the narrative where fights are an afterthought more than anything.

Why do you think casual fans want Loki to join the crew so badly despite his strength being the massive elephant in the room? They don't care about powerscaling, so why talk about it here?

The forum was toxic even back in 2019, so this doesn’t make sense. One Piece has simply become less worthy of online discussion, that’s really all there is to it.

some of them understand One Piece on their first watch through and even quite early and they question the right things, probably they have their mods and communities back them up a bit, but every new reactor comes with fresh takes

one can truly understand how Oda's story impacts and parasocially functions when you see it through other people and how they get captivated by One Piece
