I find it funny that Yamato insists on being Oden only in the bad future, does it mean she's going to become her own person in the good one? That would be nice.

Yep, that's Oda confirming that Yamato impersonating Oden is indeed a bad thing. So because of that, we can expect Yamato to grow out of wanting to impersonate Oden, if she isn't already.

He literally had Yamato asking Luffy to visit Wano as if Yamato is with Luffy somewhere else and presented that as a good future. How could Oda not be invested in this at this point? lol

That does seem pretty telling, but I'll take it with a grain of salt unless something changes in the manga itself. Only crew members and brothers got this?

Ace and Sabo never had interest in joining Luffy. In contrast, Jinbe and Yamato have, and Jinbe has at this point.

We can go back and forth on this all day, but I think literally every argument against Yamato has been countered at this point. lol

I'm just hesitant to take stuff from outside the manga to figure out the next crew member. I remember being burned by the towel merch that had just the Strawhats and Yamato. I would love for this to be true though. I was really dissapointed when she didn't join.

I mean, even just going by the manga itself, clearly Yamato still wants to join, just as Jinbe did. We shouldn’t let other things make us pretend as if she still doesn’t want to when she clearly does. Any issue surrounding that will clearly get resolved.

She does, but it seems like she's going to join in the manga epilogue or something. I don't see realistically how she's going to catch up with the SHP now, unless she sails immediately and does nothing but tries to get where they are. And she won't leave Wano until Luffy wins and it's safe to do so.
I'd be glad to be mistaken, tho. Maybe BBP do attack Wano and somehow Momo defends it on his own, then she's free to go.

Oda is smart enough to know he can power up Momo anytime. He even had Momo say he doesn’t want to rely on Yamato since she wanted to leave, and even surpass Oden himself. So it’s just a matter of him finding more ways to justify this, and something tells me we can expect something big in the next few years.

He did just reveal Moria has a close connection with Wano, so he can def do something with that for example.

I still don't believe she'll join, but catching up is no problem since you can set the log pose straight to Elbaph from Wano. That's how Kid got there so fast.
