Yo, I had chills watching that video. I wonder what went through Odas' head writing something like that down on paper. Was it a little bit of fear ? Hearing and seeing the news of Japanese workers' sudden deaths, like voice actors passing away or other mangakas ?
(God forbid, I know Oda is probably in the best medical care.)
Was he afraid that in a worst-case scenario people wouldn't believe that he told the end to a few selected people, and it would always feel weird because some would just accuse them of making up stuff on their own ? So writing it down would be like double proof.

People on reddit already deduced the location of the treasure, it's around Suruga Bay.
Not just that, plenty of people who he worked with already knew about the story but they cannot reveal it because they will get a lawsuit.
So this treasure hunt is just made to rile up the fans to visit Japan.
