And, what exactly they can do militarily? Allow their territories to be used by USA to attack Iran?

Last night report surfaced that Arabia reached out to Iran to have back end talks. Today, we have Iranian President suspending strikes.

Also, Russia is making short term gains due to rise in the demand and prices of its oil and gas
That and also get involved in the offensive

Also just as I'm typing Bahrain and the UAE is getting with drones. Looks like the rogue commanders are not taking any orders

I don't think gulf countries would get into offense. They would avoid doing it.

If they had any such intentions then Iran had given them enough reasons to go forward with it but even after a week what we are hearing is Arabia using diplomatic channels to ease the situation.

Problem isn't Iran or Gulf fears war but fuel exports and tourism which are taking massive hits as Gulf countries are unable to export fuels and aviation is down.

Yesterday, Pakistan increased fuel prices by 17 to 20 %. It's huge because it would affect prices of everything.

You will see more nations doing so because reserves are limited. Not all countries are self sufficient like USA or import it through Russia like China and India.

And, Gulf diplomat requested Russia to play role to put pressure on Iran to stop the aggression.

Gulf countries are in no situation to go on offense.

Bahrain is Shia Majority but Sunni government, they are scared of Iran for a reason tbh
i read that they deported protestors lol

It’s like middy says, you lose face in front of both your population and the rest of the oligarchy if you don’t do anything. There’s also reports of the gulf states pressuring the U.S to keep the campaign for the same reason above

Capitulating to the enemy is almost always a bad idea. Iran understands this

You should see Iran's President speech. He said - Iran was responding to US attacks by targetting US assets in the Gulf and Iran seeks friendly relations with the Gulf.

It's clear indication of diplomatic channels working to make Iran back off.

Gulf won't be trying diplomatic channels directly and via other nations if they are focused on going offense.

Bonbon, they literally attacked Bahrain and the UAE right after lol

I don’t doubt one side of the Iranian gov is doing everything in their power to stop the fire. The issue is their IRGC commanders who have a lot of autonomy might not see eye to eye

To me, the distinction is Iran is attacking US assets and not Gulf but it does violate Gulf sovereignty. However, Gulf is allowing their lands to be used to attack Iran.

So, it's a bind.

I think Gulf can't say no to USA and Iran is attacking US assets which is putting pressure on Gulf as well to respond but don't want to go into a war with Iran as it would results into irreversible damage to the region.

I will tell you why..

1) It will spill over. Pakistan and S. Arabia have mutual defense agreement. Attack on Arabia means attack on Pakistan. So, if Arabia goes into war with Iran then Pakistan has to help S. Arabia.

This becomes more complex because Pakistan is already at war with Afghanistan and Iran borders Pakistan which means there's a possibility even Afghanistan gets into the war.

2) Fuel prices would affect Europe, Africa and Asia, Australia so badly that entire global economy would be under inflationary pressure.

This war is totally different from Ukraine - Russia due to fuel dependency of the world on the region and Strait of Hormuz being choked.

3) Middle East is central point as far as fights connectivity is concerned between the west and the East.

Economically everything will be hit.

More global pressure on Gulf and Iran to stop the war.

To me, Gulf attacking Iran would only happen if things go totally out of diplomatic channels and Iran keeps on attacking the commercial centers. But as of now, this isn't the case.

UAE and Qatar refused to let the U.S. use its airspace though?

Their reasoning is quite simple, attack any country with a semblance of a relationship with the U.S. anything else is just fluff

It's not the permission for air space which matters.

Iran is responding to US attacks and to make counter attacks, Iran has to target US assets which includes military bases in the regions where US can do or is doing military or intelligence operations.

But they’re saying it is quite that lol. So clearly it’s best to ignore it

I misread something.

Iran's attack on Bahrain and Qatar was after US attacked desalination plant in Iran.

This is pressure tactics. Iran is putting pressure on Gulf to not let US attack

I told you few days ago - it's a smart strategy from Iran to take consequences of the war to regional level to ensure more effective global intervention.

And, by saying, Iran wants friendly relations with Gulf and is only attacking US assets as counter offense is also diplomatically sound.

From past 2 days not much is going on apart from few incidents.

It could be calm before the storm or gradual movement towards de-escalation.

Btw, I fear, US might see an extremist attack on its soil in near future or Trump assassination attempt

America as a whole is getting hell lot of hate across Europe and Asia... thanks to your President

@Apollo if there's one rhetoric I noticed is the weird blaming of the Deaths of The Iraq War on Iran when most research showed that it was Al Qaeda to Blame, that's only in the 2003-2012 period too, before ISIS(Yemen Too for some reason when Saudi's brutal air bombing is more to blame)

Qatar's Propaganda machine is pretty scary

Sadly any extremist attacks plays into the republicans xenophobia so it would help them instead. I bet Trump himself doesn’t care.

It might lead to a rise of anti-muslim bigotry

It's like vicious cycle.

West is majorly responsible for the destabilization of the North Africa and the Middle East.

Lack of safety, stability, basic facilities and decent livelihood opportunities fuels migration.

As they lack money, skills and documentation, a good chunk of migration happens illegally and they further face exploitation during their journey.

Even if they go through legal route, one can't deny that it's kind of forced migration and it happens when there's no hope left in their own region to provide better opportunities.

Once migrated, this immigration most of the time happens without assimilation and can go beyond natural capacity of a nation to take migrants. With time, this breeds resentment in both locals and migrants for obvious reasons which takes shape in form of hatred filled actions and speeches from both sides.

And, you will have societies which we are seeing in recent times in the west.
