General & Others Are Holy knights doomed to be " jobbers " for the rest of manga ?

Seeing how they can regenerate it seems their only purpose is to take hits to make others look strong like :

- Usopp blew up Gunko

- Whitebeard cut that female HK at GV

- Fodder giants, Shanks , Gaban cutting HK Harald

- Robin breaking Sommers neck

- Sanji owning Killingham

- Xebec low diffing Garling

- Gaban , Luffy , Rayleigh owning Sommers

Apart from Shamrock it seems they are just regeneration merchants with some powerful devil fruits and no combat skills or strong haki .

We could say the same to Gorosei actually no skills at all.

Yes.
The funny thing is, admirals still have no means to actually beat them. They also have to clean their boots when they get ordered to do so.

sommers will get a kill within the next few chapters... shamrock will lose to loki in a close fight, garling will lose to cavendish in a close fight etc. they are villains, aren't all villains "jobbers" to some extent? holy knight doflamingo will get some hype i am sure, before sanji defeats him.

The funny thing is that they are plenty strong for their role: being the "third tier" enemies after Imu and the Gorosei.
They are supposed to take care of the YC tier good guys during the final war, and that's it.

People have only blown them totally out of proportion because of agenda (aside from Shamrock).

90% of HK stocks going down is from Sommers constant L over and over.
Take Gunko, low diffing Jinbei even with other SH assistance.
Shamrock might really be close to Shanks if not equal.
So overall they aren't jobbers i'd say.

Oda have formulas of badly treating a villain who are scummy and a punchable character traits.
They ends up getting the bottom barrel treatment of humiliation.
Like Saturn among Gorosei, but rest of Gorosei are very formidable and ain't a joke.
Every faction got at least one or two among their ranks of such kind i suppose.
While BB is different breed who get those traits

It’s really 2 separate problems

1. They have regeneration and characters with regeneration are almost always doomed to look like they’d be scrubs if they didn’t have it. If you’ve read something like Blade of the Immortal then you know exactly what I’m talking about

2. They’re essentially the executive/Tobi Roppo type combatants (WG version) but they’ve been forced to go up against guys that are far above their pay grade. The Admirals and the Gorosei exist to handle the top tiers, not the Holy Knights. This has been obvious since Sommers openly stated that he didn’t want to deal with a Yonko (despite having 3 Holy Knights on the island)

Holy Knights move with impunity.

Damaging them outside of specific context.

Usopp blowing up Gunko isn't impressive for that reason.

Sanji kicking the shit out of Killingham is, but only because of the speed blitz.

Yes

Maybe one or two will at actually be really powerful but majority won't be

Oda has to make sure there's a power balance

To strong and it be an ass pull if the strawhats win

To weak and they won't struggle at all making for an arc with no true stakes or tension

I think holy knights having hacks and gimmicks but still reletively when it comes to actual combat is a good way to balance power

Since the introduction of Killingham and Sommers, their goofy and slow manners kinda already indicate they are low tier fighters. But Killingham's design looks unique in a sense that make me think he is strong, especially when he flipped the giant like nothing. He has a trident like Katakuri and Hody, looks more like Katakuri but trash like Hody.

Sommers has been taking nothing but Ls.

Gunko looks like the only competent here even though she doesn't seems like a top tier.

That left Shamrock which I believe is actually a top tier that Oda deliberately left out with an excuse.
