Nobody calls the captains top tiers, not even the blatantly strongest like Shunsui or Ukitake.

Nor were Shikai Aizen, Shikai Yamamoto considered god tiers.

Grimmjow beat up an Ichigo who couldn’t control his powers very well and got scarred and humiliated to the point of becoming a tsundere for Ichigo once he had a semblance of control. He was the Renji of the arc and that’s it, returning for a cameo later

Ulquiorra was the authors pet, well established as much and the Byakuya figure. He did a good job as a central focus for Ichigo but again is forgotten equally as much as the Tobi Rōppo after the arc. The only people who remember him are Ichigo fans who liked the fight or Ulquiorra Stan’s who like his sad backstory

Aizen never became god tier lol, the only god tier character in the series (except for the soul king) was Yhwach, of course we don't know the true power of Ichigo's true bankai, but Yhwach didn't want to fight directly ichigo's true bankai form.

Tomatoes Tomatoes, we know Ichigo was comfortably Captain lvl back in SS, with his Bankai alone he was food for Grimmjow. We know this because even after gaining the Hollow Mask, he could only match Grimmjow, heck he was on the backfoot most of the fight. Like I said, the #6 Espada literally forced Ichigo to evolve past a Bankai, which was adequate for most Captains at that time.

You're better off comparing Kaidou to Ulquiorra than you are the All Stars/Tobiroppo. He was that big of a threat to the MC during his arc.

Aizen with 3 stronger forms yet to be shown, carved out a chunk of Gin’s forearm with a touch. I’d say he’s more than earned his god tier status, only Ichibe and god tiers can deal with him at this point.

He nearly got killed by Jozu if not for Doffy saving his ass, clashed with base Doffy (Doffy without his fruit isn't even equal to Who's Who mind you), got blocked by Mihawk somehow despite rushing him out of nowhere, and then sneak attacked Akainu too.

Calling the captains top tiers at this time gives a very false perception of the Espada, when captains themselves ranged from Hitsuigaiya to Shunsui to genuine top tiers at the time like Unohana—who Aizen deliberately didn’t want to fight.

Ichigo was training his mask regardless of Grimmjkw because he couldn’t use bankai without the threat of the hollow overtaking him. The second he has control he scars Grimmjow and makes Grimmjow hyper focus on him lol.

He gets good scenes on a very weak Ichigo and then pushes a stronger Ichigo to high diff, before Ichigo gets even stronger for his Ulquiorra fight.

He died, served his purpose in the story. He was never meant to be some final villain of the story I don't see why he has to be relevant after his death.
